singapore mahatmas

Singapore mahatmas celebrated Diwali in advance in presence of Pujyashree by making 40+ items for Annakot.  Satsang was held at Sindhu House. Incidentally it was 10th birthday of Singapore center (Niruma came here for first time in 2004).

worshiping lord simandhar swami

Gnanis explain that, after knowing about a living Arihant Tirthankara, if devotion towards Him is cultivated through worship, one will eventually experience pratyaksh darshan (“in-person” devotional vision), and thereafter, attain Keval Gnan and moksha.

Pujya Niruma said, “As one’s devotion to Lord Simandhar Swami increases, so does the connection with Him. Eventually, this bond becomes so tight that one reaches the feet of LordSimandhar Swami and becomes liberated forever.”

Param Pujya Dadashri explained how to establish a connection with Simandhar Swami:

“He is not here on our planet, but in another location in this universe where human beings cannot go with their physical bodies. You need a medium through which you can make a connection with Lord Simandhar Swami. I have a natural connection with Him, and the entire world can benefit from this. I have such a good relationship with Lord Simandhar Swami that if you do His darshan as instructed, it will reach all the way to Him [in Mahavideh Kshetra].”

Param Pujya Dadashri offered the following suggestions for worshipping Simandhar Swami:

Invoke the Lord with the words, “With the live presence of'Gnani Purush Dada Bhagwan' (pure Soul within) as my witness, with utmost reverence and devotion, I bow to Tirthankara Lord 'Shri Simandhar Swami' who currently lives in Mahavideh world.” This establishes your own direct connection viaParam Pujya Dadashri’scontinuous connection with the Lord. Doing so between 4 and 6 AM is ideal, as this is the time when the influence of Satyug predominates in nature, even in the midst of Kalyug. Further, when you say so by making Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan your witness during this time, your words reach the Lord faster.

Request His grace for spiritual progress and not for worldly gain, through prayers.

Param Pujya Dadashri said, “If you remain close to Lord Simandhar Swami, even if you sit by His idol, it will help. It isdarshan of the One who is the embodiment of moksha - One who has a physical body but whose essence ismoksha (liberation). This will yield wonderful results.”

Heaven-On-Earth

Param Pujya Dadashri affirmed that when Simandhar Swami’s idol takes residence in every home, when He is worshipped with deep reverence, when His aarti is sung with devotion in every home, and when His temples are constructed all over the world, heaven-on-Earth will prevail.

Tirthankara - living god

Who is a Tirthankara ??

Tirthankara means “full moon”, which is a metaphor for Keval Gnan, the spiritual state wherein the absolute knowledge of the Soul is permanently established.

A second interpretation of the meaning of Tirthankara is “One who creates aTirtha (pilgrimage site).” Ancient scriptures testify that the ground where Tirthankaras walk becomes sanctified and, thereafter, becomes a pilgrimage site.

Tirthankaras dwell exclusively within the realm of Their Soul and are entirely free of kashayas (inner “enemies” of illusion, anger, pride, deceit, and greed).

Who is an Arihant?

Arihant is a synonym for Tirthankara, and refers to the exalted spiritual stage just prior to attaining moksha (liberation from the cycle of birth and death) and entering Siddha Kshetra (abode of perfected Omniscient Beings).

Arihant are kevalis or Jinas who have won over their inner passions and have destroyed all four of Their Ghati Karmas(Soul-restricting karmas).

The sole intent of Arihants is to serve the liberation of living beings and, unlikeSiddhas, it is possible to establish a connection with the currently living Arihants.

For the sake of recognizing the benefits in worshipping a Tirthankara, Param Pujya Dadashri distinguished three categories of Tirthankars: Those who lived in the past chovisi (cycle of 24Tirthankaras), those who are currently living, and those who will incarnate to form the future chovisi.

According to Param Pujya Dadashri, “We should do darshan (devotional viewing) of Tirthankara Lords belonging to all three categories. Although the pastTirthankaras are Siddhas, your worship is received by Their celestial beings who are still actively working for the salvation of the world. Lord Simandhar Swami is a current living Tirthankarawhose darshan is the direct cause of your liberation. And the third darshan of the future Tirthankara LordPadmanabha Prabhu will liberate generations and generations to come.”

Tirthankars of the Past

Tirthankaras who lived during the previous chovisi attained moksha and became Siddhas. As Siddhas, They reside permanently in Siddha Kshetra. Although Siddha Loka is within our universe, the Siddhas residing there are inaccessible to beings outside it.

Param Pujya Dadashri explained that despite inaccessibility, punya (merit) karmas are bound by worshipping the Tirthankaras of the past; this worship is received by celestial beings on Their behalf and is beneficial for strengthening the goal of moksha.

The Trimandirs have murtis (idols) of the following Tirthankaras of the past for worshipping:

Lord Rishabhdev (1st Tirthankara of the previous chovisi)
Lord Ajitnath (2nd Tirthankara of the previous chovisi)
Lord Parshvanath (23rd Tirthankara of the previous chovisi)
Lord Mahavir (24th Tirthankara of the previous chovisi, and the most recentTirthankara on Earth)

Tirthankars of the Present

At present, there are 20 ArihantTirthankaras in Mahavideh Kshetra (another world within our extended universe). Due to an everlasting spiritually elevated environment in Mahavideh Kshetra, Tirthankars are able to incarnate. However, They are unable to do so on Earth during the current time cycle.

Of the 20 Arihant Tirthankaras, Lord Simandhar Swami resides in closest proximity to Earth and has a uniqueroonanubandha (karmic obligation) to facilitate the liberation of the beings on Earth.

Param Pujya Dadashri explained that Lord Simandhar Swami’s murti (idol) must not even be considered an idol, but instead a living representation of His actual presence. He described that the benefit of Lord Simandhar Swami’s darshan (devotional viewing) is binding punyai nu bandhi punyai
(merit karmas which bind further meritkarmas), which facilitates one’s ultimate liberation.

One of the primary motives behind the creation of the Trimandir was to fulfill Param Pujya Dadashri’s wish for seekers to benefit from Lord Simandhar Swami’s live presence as well as to receive His grace for liberation.

Tirthankars of the Future

It is documented in ancient scriptures that Lord Padmanabha Prabhu will be the first Tirthankara of the next chovision Earth.

Just as Lord Simandhar Swami is currently present to facilitate the liberation of seekers through His grace, Param Pujya Dadashri described that Lord Padmanabha Prabhu’s incarnation will liberate generations of future seekers during His time.

Lord Padmanabha Prabhu’s murti (idol) is present in the Trimandirs to support future generations – to alleviate their suffering and facilitate their progress on the path to moksha.

simandhar swami

Shri Simandhar awami is in Mahavideh Kshetra, another world within our extended universe.

Where is Simandhar Swami ??

Our world, also called the Earth orBharat Kshetra, is currently in the 5th Araor Kalyug (a degraded time-cycle in which Tirthankaras do not incarnate). In contrast to Earth’s variable time-cycles, the 4th Ara or Satyug (a spiritually elevated time-cycle in whichTirthankaras incarnate) prevails in perpetuity in Mahavideh Kshetra, a world millions of miles away from Earth.

Mahavideh Kshetra is another world within our extended universe, located outside of our galaxy in the North-East direction. It is a world very similar to ours, except for the permanent prevalence of the 4th Ara, in which the congruence of mind, speech, and actions predominates in its inhabitants.

Param Pujya Dadashri explained that as one’s internal state becomes aligned with the spiritual qualities of the 4th Ara, birth in a location such as Mahavideh Kshetra occurs automatically. Due to spiritually favorable conditions of the 4th Ara, Tirthankaras are able to incarnate on Mahavideh Kshetracontinuously.

At present, 20 Tirthankaras are present on Mahavideh Kshetra, Lord Simandhar Swami being one among them and residing in closest proximity to our planet. Also, due to a binding-intent from a previous birth, He carries akarmic obligation to serve the liberation of Bharat Kshetra’s living beings. For these reasons, His grace can be quickly achieved through His worship. Just simply knowing Lord Simandhar Swami’s existence qualifies one to receive His unconditional grace.

Who is Simandhar Swami ??

Lord Simandhar Swami is a living Tirthankara, particularly an Arihant, who is present in Mahavideh Kshetra, another world within our universe. Due to the binding-intent from a previous birth, the Lord has a karmic obligation to perpetuate the moksha marg (path of final liberation from the cycle of birth and death) for the living beings of Earth.

Due to Param Pujya Dadashri’s direct connection with Swami through His subtle body, He could testify the Lord’s status as Arihant Tirthankara inMahavideh Kshetra. He said, “People ask me who and where an Arihant is?” So, I tell them, “Bow down to LordSimandhar Swami, as He is present in this universe. Today, He is Arihant. Therefore, bow and send obeisance to Him.” Express your obeisance in this way, “I bow to the Arihant, whoever and wherever He may be in the universe.”

By establishing a connection with LordSimandhar Swami, one binds auspiciouskarmas that result in a future birth inMahavideh Kshetra. There, one will experience His pratyaksh darshan (“in-person” devotional vision). As a result ofpratyaksh darshan one instantly attains the spiritual stage of Keval Gnan (state of absolute Self-knowledge) and after completing any remaining karmas, attains final moksha.

liberation science knowledge

"Science" will always give 'experience' (experimental ) knowledge.

Akram vignan at a glance.

What is it?

It naturally manifest within Gnani Purush Ambalal Muljibhai Patel in June 1958
It is a new and unique short-cut to Self-Realization and liberation for this day and age.
It is the same direct approach to Self-realization that Lord Rushabdev gave to his eldest son, King Bharat and Lord Krishna gave to Arjun on the Kurukshetra battle field.

How is it unique?

As compared to the traditional paths to Self-realization, there are no rituals or strict regimes to follow.
There are no qualifications that the seeker has to meet.
It is available to all, regardless of class, race, religion or gender.
There is no charge for it.
Seminars on the science of Akram Vignan are always conducted in a question-answer format, never as a lecture. Seekers are encouraged to keep asking questions until they are satisfied.
The most unique and fundamental aspect of Akram Vignan is that once you are graced with the Knowledge of the Self, you will not bind any new karmas provided you remain within the Five Agnas; five Knowledge-based principles given by the Gnani to help you discharge your past karmas and conduct your worldly interactions with equanimity. Since new karmas are not bound, your final liberation is guaranteed within fifteen lifetimes!

How is it a short-cut?

All the work is done by the current living Gnani. Through a process called Gnan vidhi, the Gnani directly graces the seeker with self realization..
Self-realization through this path puts the seeker at a spiritual level from which he can never fall provided there is compliance to the principles given by the Gnani.

How Akram Vignan works ?

Traditionally, for liberation, people have to renounce their family, their worldly life and all worldly possessions. They then withdraw into isolation to practice disciplines of dissolving the ego and the inner weaknesses of anger, pride, deceit, greed, attachment and aversion. When all forms of inner passions are destroyed, the Self is attained. However, with Akram Vignan, the Self is attained within an hour through the Gnani's grace. Concurrently, the root cause of the ego, the belief in "I am John", is completely annihilated. Thereafter, nothing remains to be attained or renounced. You continue living your worldly life as before, except now You have the inner light (pragnya-shakti) of the awakened Self guiding you as you sail across the life's ocean, all the while maintaining equanimity.

What is arrogant pride (abhimaan) ?

It is to believe that the weight of the body - complex ( pudgal ) to be one's own weight. It is to believe that 'I am Great'.

bring interest in your work

I am interested in learning all the subjects, but whenever I sit to study science I feel lazy. To overcome it I also chant ‘Dada Bhagwan Na Aseem Jay – Jaykaar Ho’ but to no avail. What should I do?

We tend to feel lazy only if we are not interested in that topic. Otherwise wherever we are keen enough do we ever feel lazy, for example while eating or sleeping do you ever feel lazy? As you are not truly interested in learning science you get that feeling of laziness. Henceforth whenever you start studying science you should say I like studying science very much. It’s a very interesting subject. Prior to studying science you should repeat at least 5 to 10 times that I enjoy studying it and then only should you sit to study it, you shall really enjoy learning it. Try out this method.

keep elders happy

If someone asks me to do some chores while I am busy doing my homework I immediately refuse them and later regret having done so, feeling I should have helped in fulfilling the task. In that case what should I do?

From today onwards decide that you shall always say ‘yes’ whenever anyone asks you to do some chore. In case if you feel that fulfilling the task shall take a long time then you should take their permission by asking them that would it be convenient if you were to fulfill the task after completing the homework? By doing so the person shall feel pleased with our attitude. And this feeling shall in turn help us in our studies as we shall be able to remember everything very easily. So always attend to the needs of elders. After all our happiness lies keeping our elders happy.

seek positive and praise other's progress

I have ill feelings for our tuition teacher. He is biased by giving Good Projects to another girl and I feel that this attitude of his is not right. I try very hard to forget it yet I am unable do so thoroughly. Please answer this query of mine.

The problem here is not with the teacher but is rooted in our feelings of jealousy. You should speak positively for the girl who has been selected in the project and see her positives. And then we should also pray for her thinking, as she has performed really well she has been selected. By doing so that talent shall blossom within us and in future we too shall be selected. But by being jealous we tend to become weak minded and lose our inherent strength. So henceforth always think positive for both the teacher and that girl.

some misunderstanding

My parents don’t approve of me attending satsang. I even have to read Dada’s books in secrecy. What should I do?

Your priority should be to try and convince your parents. To do anything without their consent will have very adverse effect. Every parent has only one desire and that is their child is brought up in an environment where he gets the best chance to inculcate the right kind of values. We might be at fault somewhere which is preventing them, to allow us to attend Satsang. So try to find out that mistake and study its cause to drive out any misunderstanding.

be sincere

am more sincere in ‘bhakti’ than I am in ‘gnan’. What to do?

At this point of time, studies and career hold more importance for us, so be sincere in that and later think about ‘bhakti’ and ‘gnan’; or else you will lose both. So think and plan accordingly.

5 commandments

Whenever I quarrel, I think of Dada, but am not able to practice the 5 commandments (aagyas). What should I do to remain aware of ‘gnan’?

From now on decide that you want to practice the 5 commandments (aagyas). By just saying or even thinking that “I am unable to” do so create obstacles on the path of attaining awareness. So daily ask for the strength by repeating 5 to 10 times, “O Dada Bhagwan! Please give me the awareness so that I can follow and practice the 5 commandments.” Then the scientific circumstances will work accordingly.

chit

My ‘chit’ tends to wander off while I am studying. It’s been 3 years since I got A.T.K.T in S.Y. B.B.A. and yet am not able to clear it. What should I do?

You might know where the ‘chit’ tends to wander off, at this age where can it wander off? You must be well aware of that. First and foremost to stabilize the ‘chit’ you should chant ‘Dada Bhagwan Na Aseem Jay – Jaykaar Ho’ for 10 minutes prior to studying. Then you should replace the person who is in your ‘chit’ with the image to the God in whom you have faith. Else, decide firmly that I want to complete my studies and have a decent career by keeping Niruma or Dada in your ‘chit’. Reaffirm this decision by repeating it daily for 5 minutes in presence of God. Then the scientific circumstances shall surely help favor you in studies and you shall definitely get better results.

different kind of awareness

As I avoid participation in college functions like dancing, singing and movie songs my friends tell me that I am a boring person. What kind of awareness should I keep during such circumstances?

Every individual has right to decide the principles on which to lead ones’ own life. Only we are the ones who have the freedom to decide whether to break those fundamental principles or not. Whatever anyone might say we should remain firm in our decision. One should very clearly communicate to those friends that such things are not of my interest and change the topic or else should find friends who have a similar mind set. But at no point should one ever mend those principles.

place yourself in mom's position

My mother takes real good care of me and I feel highly indebted to her. But whenever she tells me things and argues over trivial matters then I get really irritated. At such times I tell her that your bickering really upsets me and all what you have done for me holds no value for me and everything boils down to zero. I just cannot listen to it, what should I do?

Firstly, try to place yourself in your mom’s position and check it out for yourself how would you feel? Secondly, try to understand the true motive in what she is saying. Try to understand her viewpoint that why does she need to speak so much? Next try and find our mistake so that it is not repeated and she does not have to tell us about it. The feeling that she keeps on bickering can be overcome when we shall try to understand the underlying intent of her talks. Then instead of finding it useless it shall help find our follies. This shall also help us develop a lot of positive strength which can prove beneficial in the future. To feel irritated thinking that she keeps on bickering all the time and to talk back is a big weakness. Whatever a mother does for her child is something which can never ever be repaid by anyone in this world. Make sincere efforts to understand what’s in her heart, what are her feelings for us.

view point

Whenever I am asked to do some household chores by my mother and if I happen to make some error even in one of them then she scolds me even for those tasks which I have completed satisfactorily. Then I get irritated feeling I have to bear the brunt whether I fulfill the tasks or not?

You should try to see and understand her emotions behind that action - that why is she not allowing even one mistake? A mother always has a desire that her child should be one up than her in all the aspects. Due to this intent she deals in such a manner. We should thus decide to become totally error free while keeping in mind, what is her view point? What is her underlying intention? This shall help us focus on her viewpoint and not on the words spoken by her.

love and expectation

I quarrel a lot with my mother. I feel bad whenever she scolds me. I even happen to retort. Things are just fine whenever I attend Satsang but then it goes back to the same old routine?

Our mother is the one who is closest to us and we love her from deep within our heart and she too loves us immensely. Then when expectations arise out of this love, like she should do this and she should not do that, it leads to feeling of hatred. At such times we should ponder for a while and think how would I have reacted if I had been in her place? Next how highly we are indebted to her due to her obligations? After all she has always obliged us. Thinking on these lines shall not only prevent us from retorting but shall help us value her contribution towards our growth and develop a feeling of appreciation for her.

atma gyan

Nobody can go to heaven, hell or attain complete Liberation (Moksha) with a physical body. But we have heard (in school) that the great Yudhistir went to heaven with his physical body. In that case could it be that he may have charged his ‘karmas’ by remaining totally in awareness of his Soul? Or he would have charged only merit ‘karmas’? Or could it be that he may not have done any such thing that would have hurt anybody?

One does not have a human body in both heaven and hell but a body called ‘Vaikriya’ body (formless). Only in the state of complete liberation (Moksha) is the Soul free from having a body. In all other forms the soul is always bound by a body. Every life form binds ‘karma’. On binding merit ‘karma’, one gets a higher life form and by binding demerit ‘karma’, one gets a lower life form. In short, one is born according to what is reflected in ones’ balance sheet – account of credit & debit. One can even be born in the form of an animal. Yudhisthir attained self realization (Atma gnan) from Tirthankar Lord Neminath Bhagwan, cleared all his pending karmas and went to Moksha in that life itself.

focus

Whenever our new social science teacher takes class, I am unable to concentrate and my ‘chit’ wanders off and I also find it quite boring. What should I do?

This has got nothing to do with the teacher. The feeling of boredom arises as we are unable to concentrate and our ‘chit’ tends to wander. So, find out where the ‘chit’ is wandering off to, ask for strength from ‘Dada Bhagwan’ so to keep the ‘chit’ focused in studies. Pray to the ‘pure soul’ within the teacher and ask for strength to enable you to properly grasp the knowledge of social science that is explained. Also never see any negatives in the teacher who imparts knowledge to us. To help the ‘chit’ focus better, chant ‘Dada Bhagwan Na Aseem Jai Jaikar Ho’ in your free time. This shall surely help in getting desired results and you won’t feel bored.

make yourself adjust

Everyone tells me that I talk less. I don’t like to talk too much, due to which I am unable to adjust in my family. What should I do?

The problem is not on your talking less, but is due to you not being able to adjust with your family members. You should read Pujya Dadashri’s book titled ‘Adjust Everywhere’ without fail. And ask for strength from the God within you by saying, ‘O God (Dada Bhagwan), give me the strength to adjust with every member of my family’. You should repeat this 5 to 25 times daily. This shall help give the desired results.

play with problem

My mind gets confused when it has to decide over an issue! Please give suitable directions!

Let the mind create problem while taking a decision. It might show possibility of a negative result. Even then go ahead. We should seek the advice of an elder brother or parents if necessary. Don’t remain inactive and sit upon a problem. We must take action and face the problem if need be. Otherwise we won’t get over this Nature ever. As we go out from here and we don’t know the way, we may ask for direction to a few people. Couple of them might misguide us, it is ok. Someone will definitely show the correct way. Thus, Nature will bring us to the correct path, through trial and error. But if we don’t move out at all with the fear of facing problems, our journey will never begin. Let the problem come. These cricketers go to play and may lose. Even the best batsman gets out for a duck (0). But he learns and from it and may win next time. Such things happen in life. We may falter to recover time and again. Just play it blind and you will find another link to follow!

only 15 minutes

I can’t perform Charan Vidhi regularly. What should I do? I am studying in class XII in Science and that’s why I don’t get much spare time.

Actually it will take only 15 minutes to recite whole Charan Vidhi. But you will gain lots of inner strength. You may think that you have lost 15 minutes. In fact you will gain 2 hours worth of study time and that is a big difference. If you perform this you will really benefit. In fact we waste a lot of time here and there in useless activities every day. We waste time playing and then think we don’t have time. Secondly, we have not understood the importance of Charan Vidhi. If that were known, you would recite. You spend three hours waiting to get ‘tips’ from your sir because that may prove beneficial. Likewise, these are ‘tips’ for the inner progress, that you may not be able to figure out now. But it works ‘inside’ and yields positive results. So rather than worrying over 15 minutes time loss, just start the Charan Vidhi process and you will complete it in no time!

maintain positivity

Why do I always do something that I don’t want to do? I feel sad when my friends get good jobs. I am full of negative feelings for them and cannot concentrate on my future plans. What should I do?

At first, start attending Satsangs. Carry on trying with positive attitude. Life has to go on. Such things will always crop up. There is no need to get nervous. If we maintain positivity and keep on trying we will definitely get better chances in future. On the contrary, we may drive out positive factors if we get lost in negativity. We can at best apply positive efforts. Result is not in our hand. It’s a result of Scientific Circumstantial Evidence. So whenever negative thought appears, chant Dada’s ‘Asim Jai Jaikar’ for few minutes and ask for strength. You can study life incidents of great personalities to know how much they struggled in their life to achieve success.
Recently, a case study on the life of Nelson Mandela, famous personality from South Africa, revealed lots of sufferings he went through, but still, he remained resilient and faced it bravely. We get charged up and inspired knowing such facts. In fact, there is no difficulty as such. The suffering arises because of comparison with others. If you want to compare, then do it with those who are less fortunate than us and not with those who have good jobs. Look at the people who are struggling day and night just in order to survive and fulfill their necessities. You will realize we are in fact better placed. So maintain positivity and forget comparison.

inner soul

My mother passed away few months back, I miss her too much. I just go on thinking about the time I spent with her. It’s very painful to accept that she is not around to speak to me anymore. How do I come out of this situation?

Just focus your thoughts on how much happiness mother had caused throughout her life. She cared for our comfort and now it’s time for us to think for her well being. So the best idea is to pray to her inner soul (Shudhatma). Pray that she gets the blessings of Lord Simandhar Swami and attains salvation – the ultimate peace. It will be selfish on our part just to think of our happiness. True love is to think about mother’s happiness. That will be a real tribute. At the same time, do pratikraman for all the past deeds and free her from binding any successive karmas.
We know there is no death as such. Just as we change cloths doesn’t mean that the earlier person have ceased to exist. She has left body only, but the Pure Soul is still there, though in another form. So every time you remember mother, pray to her inner soul to attain freedom from bondage of relationship. From your side also you must withdraw your attachment and wish that she receives the blessings of the Lord and gets free from the cycle of life and death.

negativity

Sometimes I think negative of a person. So I do pratikraman, but even then it continue to see negative. What should I do?

When it happens again, introspect! Why is it that we remain negatively biased? We are not negative when someone is all praise for us. So try to find out, has anything happened that is not as per our liking? In fact, things happen according to our karmic account. In case of ‘punya (merit) karmas’, all happens as per our liking whereas in case of ‘paap (demerit) karmas’ , all happens against our liking. In that case, what’s the point of feeling negative for the persons who are basically just a part of the whole situation as one of the evidence only(nimit)? Our negative approach will only bind new ‘paap karmas’ because the other person is actually a Shuddhatma. Moreover, if we retrospect any event, we will realize why we are not given due credit in certain matters! It is because we don’t have sufficient credit of ‘punya’. In spiritual terminology, ‘yash-naam-karma’ means one gets credit for work completed, irrespective of whether he has actually done anything significant or not.

Despite all your best efforts, when you don’t get the praise, understand that you lack in merit karmas. So the best way to move out of this situation is to understand that things happen as per our karmic account and not as per our free will.

See ‘Pure Soul’ in all beings and don’t feel negative for them. In case any bad thoughts arise, do pratikaman instantly. That will help erase your negativity. Let’s adopt the policy of “Live and let live”. We should not expect others to follow our way of thinking. Give freedom to everybody. That’s the best way to attain peace.

deal with insult

How to deal with insult?

Questioner: So then what is pratikraman?

Dadashri: If a person insults you, you should understand who the real culprit is behind the insult. Is it the one who insults or is it the one who feels insulted? This should be determined first. You must understand that the person who insults you is not at fault, not even in the slightest degree. He is merely a nimit (instrument), and it is because of your own karma, which is unfolding, that you both are brought together. The fault is your own and you must do pratikraman if you harbor any negative feelings towards him. You do not have to do pratikraman if you have no ill feelings towards him or if you feel a sense of obligation to him for being instrumental in the discharge of your karma.

When a person is unpleasant or abusive towards you, you should look upon the incident as being your own account, and see him as 'instrument'. Even a pickpocket would be an instrument to settle your karmic account. All disputes arise because people blame the instrument. Atikraman is to walk on the wrong path and pratikraman is to retrace your footsteps.

Where there is discord, there is no pratikraman and where there is pratikraman, there is no discord.

You have no right to physically punish your child; you only have the right to explain things to him. If you spank your child and fail to do pratikraman, you will bind negative karma. Pratikraman is necessary here.

It is atikraman even to say, "I am Chandubhai." But for the sake of the worldly and social interactions, it is ok. If you do not hurt anyone it is not called atikraman. If during the course of your day you hurt someone, it would be atikraman for which you must do pratikraman.

This is the science of the Vitarag. Atikraman takes you to a birth in the lower life forms, namely the animal kingdom, while pratikraman transports you to a higher life form. Only pratikraman will help you until you attain final liberation.

Who does not need to do pratikraman? The one who has not done atikraman.

Chandubhai* = Whenever Dadashri uses the name 'Chandubhai' or the name of the person Dadashri is addressing, the reader should insert his or her name for exact understanding.

Glossary:
Nimit: One who becomes instrumental in a process; Apparent doer; A living or non-living instrumental evidence in unfolding karma effect; Evidentiary instrument.
Karma: The cycle of cause and effect life after life; To support the action with the belief 'I am the doer' is called binding the karma.
Pratikraman: Asking for forgiveness.
Atikraman: misdeeds / misconduct by your mind, body or speech.

path of conflict

ON THE PATH OF PROGRESS THROUGH CONFLICTS

Questioner : If we regard #conflicts as being helpful in our spiritual progress then we will make progress.

Dadashri : Yes but people do not look at it with this understanding. #God does not take you higher, conflicts do. Conflicts can take you up to a certain level but beyond that, only a Gnani (Self realized person) can help you. Conflicts occur naturally. Just like rocks in the riverbed that become smooth and rounded from the erosive forces of the water, conflicts and frictions in life will smooth your ragged edges.

free from worries

How to be free from worries? Acquire Self Realization

Questioner: Why can't we get rid of our worries? What should one do to get rid of them?

Dadashri: There can never be a person whose worries have stopped. Worries blind and fracture all right reasoning and knowledge.

There is not a single person in the world that does not worry. Even the ascetics sometimes will worry. They don't have to worry about income tax, sales tax, rent etc., but on some days, they will worry too. If they get into some conflict with their disciples, they will have worries. Worries cannot go without acquiring Self-realization.

In one hour I will take away all your worries. I give you a guarantee that if you have even a single worry thereafter, then get a lawyer and file a lawsuit against me in the courts. I have made thousands of people worry-free. Ask from me whatever you want, I will grant that to you. However, ask judiciously. Ask for something that will never leave you. Do not ask for perishable things. Ask for eternal happiness.

If you follow my five Aagnas (commandments) and still have worries, I give you permission to sue me. You have to stay in my Aagnas. Here you will get everything. Do you know what I have promised everybody here? They can sue me for two lakh rupees if they have any worries.

Questioner: After receiving Gnan from you and surrendering my thoughts, speech and actions to you, I do not have any worries.

Dadashri: Yes worries will not occur.

When worries go away it is called samadhi. After this you can do a lot more work and more efficiently than ever before because the entanglement is no longer there. As soon as you go to the office, your work starts. There will be no thoughts about home, no other external thoughts bothering you. Therefore, you will give full concentration to the work at hand.

Even amidst mental, physical and externally induced suffering one experiences blessed state of the Self (Samadhi); that is the sign of the Self Realization (Atma gnan). Without this state, all talks one does are like castles in the air.
2) Where there is religion (religious following), there are no worries and where there are worries, there is no religion there.

don't make your own laws

Do You Know That #clashes occur because you follow your own laws and interpretations? When people obey the traffic laws there are no difficulties with the way traffic runs. If you apply the same rule with this understanding to your daily interactions, you will never run into difficulties again.

How can one live conflict free life?

Dadashri: These clashes need to be resolved. Why do we want to spoil everything through conflicts? This simply does not suit us. People abide by traffic laws, which are strict regulations and they don't drive according to their own interpretations do they? Because they abide by traffic regulations, they are spared from accidents. Likewise, in your daily life you must follow the laws that prevent clashes. Clashes occur because you follow your own laws and interpretations. When people obey the traffic laws there are no difficulties with the way traffic runs. If you apply the same rule with this understanding to your daily interactions, you will never run into difficulties again. The problems arise because of your own limited interpretations of the laws of life. There is a fundamental error in understanding the laws of life. The one who explains these laws must have a thorough experience of these laws.

Look at how well you observe the traffic rules. It is because you have made a firm decision to abide by them. Why is your ego not telling you to disregard these laws? It is because you understand with your intellect that you might injure yourself, or even be killed if you violate the traffic laws. You can directly experience the outcome with your senses. The intellect however, fails to make you realize the fatal consequences from engaging in conflict with people because it is beyond your sense perception. This is very subtle matter and the damage it causes is subtle.

Related Spiritual Quotes by Param Pujay Dadashri : 1) Conflict arises because of your own ignorance. If you clash with anyone, it is a sign of your own ignorance. 2) If the other person makes a mistake, it has no value; but if a clash occurs (with someone), there are serious consequences. God does not exist where there is clash.
