greatest wonder of life - knowing about "I"

The greatest wonder of this world is the “Soul”. Once It is realized (attained), everything is attained !!

Open to understand the ultimate truth about yourself?

Are you truly who you believe yourself to be? Read on to find out the ultimate fact of life.
Realizing the True “I”

Will you not have to investigate who you really are? For how long can you go on being in the dark, unaware of your real Self? Do you not think it is ignorance to not investigate your true identity?

Until you realize who you really are, everything proves to be wrong and incorrect.

Even before you purchased your watch, did you not inquire about its make, quality, price, warranty, etc.? Then, is it not ironic that you have not made inquires about your own Self yet? Who are you? You have no knowledge about your true identity, where you come from, and where you are. You know none of these things and even without knowing the answer to this one vital question, “Who am I?” you complicate your life further, by actively participating in this relative world.

Even when you fall asleep at night, you do so as David (note: please replace this name with your own name). All night long this wrong belief reinforces itself, becoming stronger and stronger. Only when you realize the answer to the question “Who am I?” does your wrong belief stop. It is because of this wrong belief that you have been wandering from one life to another. You do not know your true identity and furthermore you impress upon yourself the belief of that which you are not. You have imposed this wrong belief on your Real Self. In addition, you have also accepted the notion, “I am David,” and as a result, have behaved accordingly. This false accusation is a blunder. This blunder is the root cause of all suffering. This suffering comes in the form of inner restlessness, misery and discontentment. At the moment, you have so many worries caused by your false belief of, “I am David”. This false imposition on the Self is ignorance, and brings forth suffering.

The Gnanis (Enlightened One) have the knowledge to replace this blunder with the fundamental right belief that ends all suffering…
Realize your true Self and experience your Soul through the scientific process of Self-Realization (Gnan Vidhi)

Gnan Vidhi is a scientific process to attain Self-Realization. It is a divine gift from Gnani Purush (Enlightened One) Param Pujya Dadashri (Shri Ambalal M. Patel, also fondly known as "Dada Bhagwan").

Self realization is the awakening of your Soul or true 'Self.’ If we ask you, what is your name? You will answer “David.” You do not have to remember that your name is 'David,' and if someone says anything bad or wrong about David, then you may experience suffering, wondering 'why is this person abusing me?’ This happens as you have a strong belief that 'I am David.'

When you attain Self realization, your belief that 'I am David' is broken with the Divine grace of the Gnani Purush Dada Bhagwan and the right belief that 'I am Pure Soul' is established within 2 hours. This scientific process to achieve Self-realization is called Gnan Vidhi. Nothing gets changed externally, just the internal awareness that David is separate and 'I am a Pure Soul' starts from within.
Who can acquire Gnan Vidhi (Self Realization)?

Anyone above 18 years of age is welcome to undertake Gnan Vidhi. There is no need to change your present guru or religion. A Gnani Purush is needed for Self-realization and to guide you on a path to ultimate liberation. The teachings of the Gnani Purush are relevant to followers of all religions.
Is there a fee to receive Gnan Vidhi?

The Gnan Vidhi is a priceless gift given freely to all. There is no charge of any kind.

destroy mistake after enlightment

He who can see his own mistake can become absolute supreme Self (Parmatma)!

"How to destroy mistakes after enlightenment?"

Major importance is given to the awareness of aggression caused to others through the medium of thoughts, speech and acts and to ask for forgiveness in the direct presence of the awakened Lord within. You should maintain awareness in every step of daily living. The inner component of anger, pride, attachment and greed within you will continue to create new karmic accounts without fail. And it is against these very components that you have to dopratikraman immediately and erase everything. You cannot afford to let this business of binding karma continue.

Questioner: But the mistakes we make now, are they not from our past life?

Dadashri: These mistakes are the results of the very demerit karma that you committed in your past life. Not only do people not destroy their mistakes in this life, but they also go on increasing them. In order to destroy a mistake, you must accept it and regard it as a mistake. You cannot go on protecting it. This is the key theGnani gives you to solve all your problems. It can open up the most difficult of locks.

How can a Gnani Purush help you? All he does is to simply shed light on your mistakes; and show you ways not to support and protect your mistakes. But if you ever say something like, 'Oh but I have to live in this world, how can I possibly do that?' you are supporting your mistake. You should never support your mistake in this way. When you do this, not only are you supporting your mistake, but also creating bondage for infinite rebirths.

Once you begin to recognize your mistakes; they will be destroyed. When cloth merchants swindle their customers by stretching the cloth before cutting it in order to sell them short, and brag about their ruse, they are essentially committing grave negative karma. This actually supports their mistakes. There is no need to support your mistake like that. By cheating others, one is doomed to face infinite rebirths.

Glossary : pratikraman - asking for forgiveness with repentance,Gnani Purush - One who has realized the Self and is able to do the same for others; The Enlightened One; Perfectly enlightened One, who is free from ego and all worldly attachments and enlightens others.

impact of words in relationship

What is the impact of words in relationship?

Questioner: But many conflicts arise because of the words I use.

Dadashri: It is because of words that this world has come into existence. When words come to an end, so will the world.

Words have been the cause of all the wars in the world. Words must be sweet or else they should not be spoken. You can become one with someone again even after you have fought with that person, if you use sweet words to assuage him.

Some people tell their elders that they have no sense. How can one say such a thing? Who are they to assess commonsense in others? Such words will inevitably create conflicts. You should not say anything that would hurt others because you will be held liable for it. People who understand this will not take on such a liability; instead they will always say the right thing, whereas those who lack this understanding speak recklessly, taking on the liability. The responsibility is yours.

By telling a person, "You do not understand," you create the worst of the knowledge-deluding karmas (gnanavaran). You cannot make such a statement because it hurts the other person. Instead you can say, "I will help you understand."

If you are sitting peacefully and someone comes and says to you, "You have no sense," these words will shatter your peace of mind and you will feel hurt, but it is not as if he has thrown a rock at you!

Words have a tremendous impact in this world. The scars they leave behind cannot be erased for hundreds of lifetimes. People say their hearts have been wounded by words. This is nothing but the effect of words and this world perpetuates because of these effects.

Some women tell me they still bear scars on their heart from what their husbands said to them twenty or thirty years ago. What kind of a 'rock' did these men throw with their speech that the wound has not healed even now? Such wounds should not be inflicted.

In our culture, people of lower caste use physical violence to hurt one another, while those of higher castes use words to hurt one another.

Words, which hurt others, are called inappropriate words. People take on a grave liability when they use such words, even casually. On the other hand when they employ pleasant words casually they are beneficial. People are not brave enough to use inappropriate language with a policeman or someone with authority for fear of being reprimanded, but they use it freely at home, because they are not afraid of the consequences. The policeman would indeed teach you a lesson, but who would teach you a lesson at home? Should we not learn a new lesson?

what is true religion ?

Have you ever thought, “What is religion or what does religion mean?”

Religion is that which brings forth immediate results. Just as anger brings about instant results, so should the practice of religion. Param Pujya Dadashri affirmed, “That which brings forth results is called religion. When kashayas (the inner enemies of anger, pride, deceit and greed) decrease and eventually cease, that is religion.”

Relative versus Real Religion

Param Pujya Dadashri made a deeper distinction between relative and Real religion. He said:

“Religion that concerns the mind, speech, body, and any other aspect of the prakruti(non-self complex, or relative self) is considered a relative religion. Most people are practicing relative religion as they are engaged in the religion of the mind, speech and body….”

Param Pujya Dadashri then expanded the definition of “relative” to a subtler level, explaining:

“To make a false projection of being what you are not, to live ‘as the body’, to walk a path where good deeds are advocated and bad ones denounced, even just to maintain an obliging nature towards others…all falls into the domain of relative religion.”

What, then, did Param Pujya Dadashriconsider True religion, or Real religion?

He said, “Sat Dharma (True religion) is the religion of the Atma (the Self, or Soul). Real religion is, in truth, your very own religion, the religion of your real Self. The religion of the Self is, in itself, liberation.”

He described that, in Atma Dharma(religion of the Self), there is attainment ofKeval Gnan (Absolute Self-knowledge) andKeval Darshan (Absolute Vision) which, once established, results in Keval Charitra(Absolute Conduct).

Param Pujya Dadashri said, “Atma Dharmais the ultimate religion, and a path free of contradiction. If you pursue Real religion and realize your Atma even for a fraction of a second, that is liberation.” Param Pujya Dadashri explained that Real religion must be attained from One who is fully enlightened.

He said, “Acquire the knowledge of your real identity from a fully Self-realized person. A Gnani Purush is such a Self-realized person in whose heart this religion of the Self lives. His ‘lamp’ is lit and, if you touch the wick of your lamp to His, your ‘lamp’ also will be lit. The presence of aGnani Purush is a very rare and precious occurrence and, when it happens, it is possible for you to realize your Atma, within just one hour!” This is exactly what you can experience even today by attending the Self Realization ceremony which also makes you achieve and practice True Religion.

avoid conflict

‘I am unable to tolerate’; to say this is the lack of ability to tolerate and ‘I am able to tolerate’ is itself the ability to tolerate.
To  know “Avoid Conflicts – Does that mean to tolerate?"

“Avoid Conflicts” – Does that mean to tolerate?

Questioner: Dada, when you say we must avoid conflict, does that mean that we have to practice tolerance?

Dadashri: No, to avoid conflict does not mean to tolerate. Your ability to tolerate is limited. How much can you tolerate? To tolerate is the same as compressing a spring. How long can a spring remain compressed? Rather than learn how to tolerate, learn how to reach a solution. Without this knowledge of the laws, one has no choice but to tolerate everything and eventually the compressed spring will recoil, causing a lot of damage. Nevertheless, alas such are the rules of nature. There are no laws in this world dictating that you must endure because of someone else. If you are forced to tolerate the acts of others, realize that it because of your own karmic account. It is because of your past karmas. You do not know where this account came from, so you assume it is something new being directed to you. No one creates new accounts. It is merely the old ones(karmas form your previous life) coming back to you. In our Gnan(Knowledge of Self Realization), we do not have to tolerate anything. We just observe through Gnan, that the other person is a pure Soul and that he is merely instrumental in settling our past account. This awareness solves the puzzle.

Glossary : Gnan: Dadashri uses the word Gnan for three types of knowledge: Gnan with capitalized 'G' is the knowledge of the Self (spiritual knowledge). The second gnan is the knowledge of cause and effects, life after life, and the third gnan is the worldly knowledge of human beings : Knowledge of Self Realization!

Did you know : Knowldge of Self can be attained through special ceremony called Gnan Vidhi (Self Realization Ceremony).

witty vivekanand

The Witty Vivekanand

When Swami Vivekanand was studying law at the University College, London, a white professor, whose last name was Peters, disliked him intensely.

One day, Mr. Peters was having lunch at the dining room when came along with his tray and sat next to the professor. The professor said, "Mr Vivekanand , you do not understand. A pig and a bird do not sit together to eat." Vivekanandji looked at him as a parent would a rude child and calmly replied, "You do not worry professor. I'll fly away," and he went and sat at another table.

Mr. Peters, reddened with rage, decided to take revenge. The next day in Class he posed the following question: "Mr.Vivekanand , if you were walking down the street and found a package, and within was a bag of wisdom and another bag with money, which one would you take ?"
Without hesitating, Vivekanandji responded, "The one with the money, of course."

Mr. Peters , smiling sarcastically said, "I, in your place, would have taken the wisdom."

Swami Vivekanand shrugged and responded, "Each one takes what he doesn't have."

Mr. Peters, by this time was fit to be tied. So great was his anger that he wrote on Swami Vivekanand's exam sheet the word "idiot" and gave it to Swami Vivekanand . Vivekanandji took the exam sheet and sat down at his desk trying very hard to remain calm while he contemplated his next move.

A few minutes later, Swami Vivekanand got up, went to the professor and told him in a dignified polite tone, "Mr. Peters, you signed the sheet, but you did not give me the grade."

peace @ home

How to keep peace at home?

Questioner: The important thing is that there should be peace at home.

Dadashri: But how can peace prevail? For peace, you have to understand dharma (religion, one's duties, moral code of conduct). You should tell everyone at home, "We are not each other's enemies; nobody has any quarrels with anyone. There is no need to have differences of opinion. Let us share with each other what we have and let us be happy." That is how you should think and do everything. You should never quarrel with people at home. How can you quarrel with people you have to share the same home with? Nobody has ever been happy by making others miserable and we want to be happy by giving happiness. We can only be happy if we make others happy at home. You will be served a good cup of tea with a smile, if you avoid conflicts with this understanding. Otherwise, they will ruin your tea before they serve it to you.

Look how many worries and inner differences there are! A person continues to harbour differences of opinion, yet he thinks he practices religion. Ask him if the quarrelling has ceased in his home. Has it even decreased? Have his worries become less? Does he have at least some peace? To that he will say, "No, but at least I practice religion." You fool! What religion do you have? Being religious means, you are at peace within and regardless of your situation in life you do not have any stress, whether it be internal or external. To revert to your Real nature (the Soul), is the final definition of religion.

If your wife drops a stack of china dishes and glassware, would you be affected by it?

If you are affected or you feel hurt, you cannot refrain from saying something; you cannot prevent turning on your 'radio'. The moment you get hurt, your radio will come on, which in turn will hurt her. Then she will point out, "You act as if you never break anything." It is important to understand that glassware can easily slip and break. If you were to tell her to break the dishes, would she do so? Who or what breaks them? There is no person in this world with an independent strength or power to break even a single dish. All these events that take place are accounts that are being settled, and therefore all you have to do is ask her whether or not she was hurt.

If you both fight over a couch, then throw that couch away. That couch is worth only a few hundred dollars. Is it worth fighting over? It will only sow seeds of hatred. Just get rid of it. Anything that causes conflicts in the home should be thrown away.

The more you understand, the greater your faith. With faith you will acquire results. Without faith, nothing will help you. If you do things with understanding, your life will be happy and it will make her life happy too. Does your wife not cook you wonderful meals?

Related Spiritual Quotes by Param Pujya Dadashri: 1) Where there is no peace; there is not the slightest religion there.
2) One is not to win the world, he has to win the home (family).
3) One time quarrel is tantamount to incurring a loss of five thousand rupees.
4) Difference of opinion is a clash, and to clash is a 'weakness'.

real happiness

Real happiness and peace is attained only if one comes into one’s true Self.
To Know "Does God forgive all sins? And what is real happiness?"

Repentance for Sins

Questioner: If we go to the temple every Sunday and confess to all our wrong doings (demerit karmas) to God, will we be forgiven?

Dadashri: If that were possible then no one would fall sick, would they? Then there would be no misery (dukh) at all, would there? But there is endless misery. The reason to ask for forgiveness is to destroy the root of your demerit karmas (paap), so that they do not sprout again, but you will still have to suffer the effect; the fruit, won’t you?

Questioner: Some roots may sprout again.

Dadashri: They may sprout again if they were not destroyed completely. But regardless of whether the root has been destroyed or not, the fruits of past karmas will still have to be suffered. Even the Enlightened Lords have to suffer them. Lord Krishna too was shot with an arrow in the foot. There is no way out of that. I too have to suffer them.

Asking for forgiveness is part of every religion: Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, etc., but their methods are different.

Questioner: But no person can have all the four different types of happiness the Lord has given, surely?

Dadashri: This is not happiness at all. It is all imagination. It is not real happiness.

Questioner: How is one to understand what real happiness is and what is not, without experiencing it?

Dadashri: One will experience it without fail. Happiness that is not dependent upon any external things will arise; happiness that you have never seen before. Such happiness is called bliss (anand).

Questioner: It should remain forever.

Dadashri: That happiness (sukh) will then never leave. Such bliss has arisen in everyone after taking this Gnan; they experience the fact that it has not gone. Then if you were to throw rocks at that bliss, it will hurt you, but nothing will happen to You if You remain in ‘our’ Agnas. ‘Our’ Agnas are very easy.

Related Spiritual Quotes by Param Pujya Dadashri:
1) You will have to suffer whatever karmas you have bound. It is your own responsibility. God is not responsible for any of them at all.
2) As far as God is concerned, there is no such thing as right or wrong. They are just worldly arrangements. All He says is to do pratikraman if you hurt anyone. You should not hurt anyone.
3) “The reaction of whatever you do will continue punishing you (hold you accountable). I do not have to come to punish you,” says God.

have conflict free life

How can one live conflict free life?

Dadashri: These clashes need to be resolved. Why do we want to spoil everything through conflicts? This simply does not suit us. People abide by traffic laws, which are strict regulations and they don't drive according to their own interpretations do they? Because they abide by traffic regulations, they are spared from accidents. Likewise, in your daily life you must follow the laws that prevent clashes. Clashes occur because you follow your own laws and interpretations. When people obey the traffic laws there are no difficulties with the way traffic runs. If you apply the same rule with this understanding to your daily interactions, you will never run into difficulties again. The problems arise because of your own limited interpretations of the laws of life. There is a fundamental error in understanding the laws of life. The one who explains these laws must have a thorough experience of these laws.

Look at how well you observe the traffic rules. It is because you have made a firm decision to abide by them. Why is your ego not telling you to disregard these laws? It is because you understand with your intellect that you might injure yourself, or even be killed if you violate the traffic laws. You can directly experience the outcome with your senses. The intellect however, fails to make you realize the fatal consequences from engaging in conflict with people because it is beyond your sense perception. This is very subtle matter and the damage it causes is subtle.

Related Spiritual Quotes by Param Pujay Dadashri : 1) Conflict arises because of your own ignorance. If you clash with anyone, it is a sign of your own ignorance. 2) If the other person makes a mistake, it has no value; but if a clash occurs (with someone), there are serious consequences. God does not exist where there is clash.

satsang - meanings and forms

The Meaning and Forms of Satsang

Satsang means the company of Atma (the Self). Param Pujya Dadashri explained a deeper meaning behind satsang and described its various forms:

When people read scriptures, it is considered satsang.

The company of a Sat Purush (Enlightened Being) or a Sant Purush (Saint) is also considered satsang.

The company of a Gnani Purush (embodiment of Self-knowledge) issatsang, and attaining the company of a Vitarag Lord (Omniscient and fully-Enlightened Being) is the ultimate satsang.

The Benefits of Satsang

When asked, “What, then, is the reason to attend satsang?”

Param Pujya Dadashri replied:

“‘Sat' means the Ultimate Truth of the Self, and ‘sang’ means company. The power ofsang lies in that, the more people in attendance, the greater the energy of the group will be, and the more the Self becomes settled and still.”

He continued, “Due to satsang, your vision, speech, and even your thoughts will be elevated.”

Dadashri concluded, “By remaining insatsang, your stock of inner impurities empties…and your karmic burden lightens; your jagruti (spiritual awareness) also increases tremendously. Even if you do not do anything, changes occur within. Simply by immersing yourself in satsang, your spiritual progress occurs automatically. An hour of satsang has tremendous value.”

Paramahansa Satsang

Param Pujya Dadashri described satsangof relative religion to be ‘Hansa ni Sabha’ (gathering of swans). In such satsangs, good and bad are distinguished, and one is guided towards being good increasingly. He praised those attending such satsangs, saying that they will attain eventual liberation.

Param Pujya Dadyashri then explained the significance of satsang with a Gnani Purush, saying:

“A Gnani Purush is a manifestation of ‘Sat’, and therefore, the company of a Gnani Purush is considered ‘satsang’. A Gnani Purush can also be called ‘Mokshadata Purush’ (the Liberating One).”

Param Pujya Dadashri elaborated further:

“A Gnani Purush’s satsang can be referred to as ‘Paramahansa’ (gathering of an Ultimate Swan). Mythologically, swans separate water and milk with their beaks. Therefore, in a spiritual context, ‘Paramahansa’ refers to ‘One who is able to separate the Self from the non-Self.’ A Gnani Purush is such a One. His company is consider as gathering of paramhansa.

understand egoism

Someone may have a broken heart or someone may have a broken ego. Such people will have to suffer tremendously because of that.

Understanding egoism, and how to becomes free from egoism (ahankar)

Egoism is the Same in Everyone!

Our people do not know what egoism (ahankar) is at all. What is considered egoism? Each and every living being (jivatma) possesses egoism. Where there is a consciousness of 'I am this body' (deha-dhyas), there is definitely egoism there.

Questioner: Some people's (egoism) hurts more.

Dadashri: No, egoism is the same everywhere. It is not a question of whether it hurts or not. Egoism is nothing else. The only part that is considered egoism is when one applies 'I-ness' to where one is not. To install 'I'-ness where it doesn't belong; is called egoism. To believe that 'I', is where 'I' is not; is egoism. And how many people would this include?

Questioner: Everyone.

Dadashri: Here, only the Gnanis

(Self-realized; One who has realised the Self;) have remained free from this. Therefore, when it concerns egoism, it is not related to the worldly life (sansar) at all, but it is with one's alleged intent (aropit bhaav; the belief of 'I am Chandubhai*'). And this includes the entire world.

Questioner: Can you measure the amount of egoism?

Dadashri: No.

Questioner: Is it the same amount in everyone?

Dadashri: It is the same.

Questioner: Some people seem egoistic, while others appear humble.

Dadashri: That is not egoism. No other word can be associated with egoism. Egoism is the egoism; it is the alleged intent (aropit bhaav - the belief of 'I am Chandubhai*'). And if the alleged intent goes away, it will go away immediately. We remove your egoism. To believe the body to be the Soul (Atma) is egoism. Wherever this belief of 'I' arises, it is called egoism. Therefore, when all these ignorant beliefs are "fractured" (destroyed), egoism disappears.

*Chandulal = Whenever Dadashri uses the name 'Chandulal' or the name of the person Dadashri is addressing, the reader should insert his or her name for exact understanding.

Related Spiritual Quotes by Dadashri:
1) Egoism is not a thing. When you believe 'I am this…I am this…'; it is all egoism. 'I am Pure Soul' is the only egoless (nirahankar) state.
2) 'I did this', this gives rise to egoism. 'This is mine', it gives rise to attachment (mamta).
3) Egoism (ahankar) is harmful, the moment one realizes that then everything will become straightforward. The ahankar is not worth protecting.
4) There are only two things in the world: feed the ego(ahankar) or break the ego (ahankar). One's ego (ahankar) is either being fed or being destroyed; nothing else happens (in this world) apart from this two.
5) The ego (ahankar) dies and the ego (ahankar) lives, but people say that 'I died'. That which takes birth and dies is the ego, and the Soul is in the same place (is always intact). Even Pudgal (the atoms that were charged & which are being discharged in the form of mind, body, speech) is in the same place. The issue is only of the ego (ahankar) in the middle.

make use of money efficiently

How to make good use of money?

Questioner: If a person makes a million dollars because of his merit karmas, should he give to the poor or should he spend it on himself?

Dadashri: The money should be spent in such a way that it does not hurt anyone in his family. First he should ask his family members whether they have any financial difficulties, and if they tell him no, then he has fulfilled his duty. If they have financial problems, then he has to take care of that first. He should do at least this much.

Questioner: But he should spend it towards a good cause, surely?

Dadashri: Yes, he should spend all the rest towards a good cause. Whatever he uses for his own home goes to waste and the money he donates will create a safe-side for his next life. He cannot take the money with him, but at least he can use it to secure a safe-side for himself.

Questioner: But in a way it is the same as taking it with him!

Dadashri: Yes, but only that which creates a safe-side for you is worth taking with you. So use the money in such a way that it makes others happy. That is your safe-side.

Questioner: What is the proper use of money?

Dadashri: When it is used for the benefit of humanity, or for God, it is good use of money

scientific seperation of self and non-self

What is self realization ??

Soul (Atma), Absolute Knowledge (Gnan) and the Absolute Supreme Soul (Parmatma) are one and the same element.

What is Atma Gnan (Self Realization)? It is the understanding of the inherent qualities of Atma (Purush, Self) and the anatma (prakruti, nonself). The one who knows the qualities of the Self and of the non-self, and has been through the process of separation, is said to have acquired Atma Gnan. When you become aware of the inherent qualities and differences of the Self and the nonself, you have acquired Atma Gnan.

It is not possible to attain Atma Gnan on your own. This is because right now, you are living and behaving as prakruti and you are trying to destroy the prakruti while being in it. How can this be possible? You will only be able to scratch the surface, but you will not be able to totally destroy prakruti. For example, if this cloth becomes dirty, you will need soap to remove the dirt. In the process of cleaning, the soap will leave behind a residue. While you remove one kind of residue, another kind will set in. Then you have to use Tinopal (a branded cloth whitener in India) in order to remove the residue from the soap. The Tinopal will also leave its own stain. I am giving you this analogy to help you understand why it is not possible to attain Atma Gnan through one's own efforts. Unless one receives Atma Gnan, it is not possible to destroy prakruti. It can be weakened, but not destroyed. Once you recognize the attributes of the Self and the non-self, you have the solution. The Gnani Purush (The Enlightened One) can help you know all of the attributes. Only a Gnani Purush can separate the Self from the non-Self for you. For example, this gold ring is a mixture of copper and gold. Who do you think will be able to separate the gold from the copper?

Questioner : Only a goldsmith.

Dadashri: Yes, a goldsmith can separate the gold and copper because he knows the qualities of both these elements. Similarly, a Gnani Purush knows the qualities of the Self and the non-Self and therefore, can separate the two. The gold and copper in this ring are in the form of a mixture rather than a compound. The goldsmith, therefore, can easily separate the mixture. Similarly, the Self and the non-Self are in a mixture form and not in a compound form, which is why it is possible to extract one from the other. If they were in a compound form, it would not be possible to separate the two. That is why the Gnani Purush is able to separate the two, and one is able to understand the Self.

Related Spiritual Quotes by Param Pujya Dadashri: 1) What is the sign of having attained the Self Realization? Presence of awareness; constant awareness.
2) There is no realization of 'who am I?' 'One' is trying to remain hidden from his 'own Self'. He knows all that is of the non-Self. It is a wonder that one remains hidden from his own Self!

bhagwat gita - essence

Lord Krishna or Shri Krishna is most often worshipped in the forms of:

Bal Krishna (An infant)

Gopala (A mischievous young boy)

Vasudeva (A human-being evolved to the stage of God-hood)

Yogeshwar (One who has realized the Ultimate Self)

Describing the different forms LordKrishna is worshipped in, Param Pujya Dadashri said, “Some have labeled Him ‘The One with a flute’; some call Him ‘The One with Gopis.’ But Lord Krishnacannot be fully understood that way.”

Beyond the above-mentioned forms,Param Pujya Dadashri explained that Lord Krishna was a manifested God living in continuous awareness and an exalted Self-realized stage; He was aVasudeva Narayan, a Yogeshwar, and one of the 64 Shalaka Purusha (one with super-human abilities and achievements).

The Essence of the Bhagavad Gita

As Arjun’s guide on the Mahabharatabattlefield, it was Lord Krishna’s duty to address his (Arjun's) despondency. In order to do so, the Lord began by revealing His true, divine Self:

"Arjun, you have known Me for a long time, yet you haven't known Me in the true sense. What you see before you is My physical body, not the true Self. I am separate from this body. I am Atma (the Self).”

“Material” and “Packing”

Param Pujya Dadashri elaborated that, “Lord Krishna said, ‘The ‘material’ within is precisely what I am - that actually isKrishna.’ You will find what you are searching for if you recognize Him (beyond the “packing” of the body). The entire inner intent of Shri Krishna is contained within these two words (material and packing).”

Using the subject of death to further illustrate this, Param Pujya Dadashri explained that what departs at the time of death is the inner “material” (Atma, or the Self), and what remains behind is the discarded “packing” of the body. While Lord Krishna’s “packing” was of Vasudeva Narayan, there are infinite varieties of packing for the living beings of the world – plant-forms, animal-forms, the human-form, etc.

Remain in the Awareness of the Self Within All

Guiding further, Lord Krishnaenlightened Arjun with the knowledge of the Self existing within Him, and within all living beings – including those he (Arjun) must now face in battle.

"Just as I am Atma (the Self), you too are Atma. The brothers, uncles, teachers, and friends whom you are facing in the battle are also Atma.”

Shri Krishna continued, “Arjun, this battle is your karmic destiny, and you must carry it out with the awareness of the Atma within all. If you remain in this awareness and fight the war, you will not bind any new karma and your remaining karmas will exhaust. This will lead to ultimate salvation."

worry

What is worry?

But what is a worry? When a thought goes beyond a certain level it is called a worry. Thinking has to be done up to a certain level and should not exceed its limits. What is normality in thinking? It is normal as long as it is does not distress you. Once it goes beyond that and puzzles you or troubles you, you should stop. After the limit is reached, it turns into worry. This is what I have discovered.

One does not have a right to worry. One has a right to think but when it results in worry, one should stop. An above normal thought, is called a worry. Even I do thinking, but once it gets above normal and begins to churn my stomach, I stop.

Questioner: Ordinarily if we keep a watch internally,it is a thought, but if it becomes a worry would it then be considered an entanglement?

Dadashri: When you worry, that is entanglement.Worries arise because one believes that,' I am doing all this.' That is what he believes. Worry means I am the doer of all this. This is a disease that plagues all human beings. It cannot be purged quickly. Once a habit becomes established it does not leave. It is simply not in your interest to worry. In reality things simply happen.

Questioner: It will go away once we come to you!

Dadashri: Yes, it will go away, but it will happen slowly. It does not happen instantly.

Related Spiritual Quotes by Param Pujya Dadashri : 1) Why do worries occur? One becomes involved (becomes one) with the thoughts that arise and that is why worries arise.
2) How many things do you need to acquire in this world? Things are endless. You will receive them as needed, so remain worry free.

pujya niruma....

Pujya Niruben Amin, lovingly called ‘Niruma’ was born on December 2, 1944 in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India. She was a leading disciple of the Gnani Purush 'Dada Bhagwan'. Under His guidance and through selfless service, she has played an important role in carrying on the Gnani’s mission of liberating people through Akram Vignan.

Life: Pujya Niruma was born to a rich family wherein she was the youngest and the only sister of five brothers. From a very young age, she had an ardent desire to be a doctor for servicing the mankind. After completing the school years in Mumbai, she graduated from the Aurangabad Medical College. During her final college year, her brother spoke to her about Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan.
Spiritual Inclination: Pujya Niruma attained Self Realization from Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan on July 8, 1968 at the age of Twenty-Three. For the first time, she met Him on June 29, 1968 in Vadodra (Gujarat) and completely surrendered to the Gnani for spreading peace and love across the globe.

With an unflinching determination of helping millions, who are encountering diverse worldly sufferings, through Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan’s grace of Akram Vignan, she gave up all her worldly comforts and decided to serve the Gnani.
Accompanying Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan wherever He went across the globe and taking care of his needs, Pujya Niruma became an esteemed exemplar of seva (devotional service), dedicating 20 years of her selfless service to the Gnani.
With the only goal of fulfilling the selfless and deep desire of Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan to liberate the world from all internal and external sufferings through the path of Akram Vignan, Pujya Niruma recorded all His spiritual discourses (satsangs). She even compiled and published the Gnani's pure speech (without alternation) in the form of different books, including the 14 series of Aptavani.
In 1987, Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan graced her with special spiritual powers to conduct self-realization ceremonies. He said to Pujya Niruma, “You have to become the mother of the whole world.”[7]
In 1988, Pujya Niruma presided over the first Gnan Vidhi (self-realization ceremony of 2 hours). With the Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan’s grace and protection since then, she traveled to remotest locations to spread Akram Vignan.[8]
In 2002, she inaugurated a big complex called the 'Trimandir Sankul' in Adalaj, Gandhinagar, which was developed under her guidance and supervision. This, too, was the vision of the Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan.[9]
In 2003, Pujya Niruma gave special blessings originally of Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan to Pujya Deepakbhai Desai, to preside over the self-realization ceremonies.[10]
On March 19 2006, Pujya Niruma left her mortal body in a state of absolute Samadhi.[11] Even today, her subtle spiritual presence continues to impart inner strength to people for progressing on the path of liberation. She gave a touching final message to all, "Live with Love...Promise?"[12]

peace at home

Spiritual Quotes on "The Real definition of Pure Love"

Whenever there is a presence of the Lord or a Gnani Purush in this world, people witness real love. That love will not increase or decrease. It is love without attachment. It is the love of the Gnani. The Gnani's love is parmatma (absolute Self). Real love is parmatma; nothing else is parmatma.
Real love begins the moment one begins to understand one's Real Self (the Soul).
The nature of the Self is love and with such a love, one forgets all one's problems. Once bound through this love, nothing else can bind you.
Real love arises only when the ego and attachment are gone. Real love is something that is born out of absolute nonattachment (vitaragata).
Pure love, real love exists where there is no selfishness; where there are no feelings of 'yours-mine'. Wherever there is a feeling of' 'yours-mine', there is definitely selfishness as well as ignorance of the Self.
The love between a real guru and the disciple is such that the disciple absorbs everything the guru says.
Where there is real love, there is no limitation, or separation. It is boundless.
When you see faults in them, you cannot love them. So when you see the world as faultless, that is when pure love will arise.
Real love should not break under any circumstances. So it can only be called love if it never breaks. That is the test of love.
Human nature is such that wherever there is too much worldly love it turns into dislike and abhorrence.

Science behind "The Real definition of Pure Love"

What people call love in this world, is the language of illusion and deception. The warmth of real love is very different. Love is something very divine.
Attachment is relative and changing and love is real and unchanging. Love does not increase or decrease. If it increases or decreases, it is attachment. When relative love becomes excessive, it is called attachment, and one becomes trapped in it. When attachment decreases it turns into abhorrence. That which is attraction and repulsion is not love. What people call love, the Lord calls attraction.
Life of false attachment is useless. It is equivalent to being blind. It is like a blind man who wanders around like the moth and gets consumed in the process. Love on the other hand is constant and it gives lifelong happiness. It does not seek instant gratification.
Infatuation and attraction cannot be removed even if you want to. Just as you cannot remove the force of magnetism between a magnet and a pin, the infatuation and attraction in humans does not go. Its power and its force can be decreased, but it cannot be eliminated. Infatuation and attraction only go away when one becomes the Self, the one who is never attracted.
If one wants to acquire the supreme love, a love that this world has not seen, heard, believed or experienced before, then one should worship the living embodiment of love, the Gnani Purush.

Try It Yourself

1. The love test:
Just as we tap a rupee coin to test its authenticity, find an excuse to scold the other person and see their reaction. Nowadays selfishness is rampant. People will feign love for selfish motives. You should test it to see whether it is real love or not.
The one with such love (Real Love) will remain calm when scolded and take the utmost care not to hurt the offender. In the presence of such love even the wicked person would melt and surrender.

2. Become the embodiment of pure love:
If a person leaves after insulting you, and returns a few minutes later, if your love for him does not diminish, that is pure love (shuddha prem). One needs to learn to have this kind of love, nothing else. You should have the kind of love that I show you. Will you be able to manage this before this life comes to an end? So now learn to have such a love.

3. Feel love:
It is when you ask for forgiveness for all mistakes that have occurred so far. You accept that you, and only you are at fault for seeing fault in others. You should take this approach with those for whom you wish to become the embodiment of love. Only then will you feel love. Do you want to love or not?

Dada's Life

Questioner: So the feelings that we have for you, is it the result of love in your heart?

Dadashri: Yes, it is the result of love. People become wise with this weapon of love. I do not have to scold them. I do not mean to scold anyone. The only weapon I have is this love. 'I mean to conquer this world with love'. I have laid down my arms. I have laid down my weapons of anger, pride, attachment and greed. The world wields these weapons of anger, pride, attachment and greed. I aim to conquer the world through love. The love that people know and understand is the mundane worldly love. Real love is that which will not depress me if you insult me, or elevate me if you praise me. In real love no changes occur. If any changes do occur, they will be of this body and not of the pure love. I, love incarnate, am separate from these thoughts, speech and acts.

anger in relationship

What causes anger in relationship?

Questioner: What is the main reason behind a man's anger?

Dadashri: He loses sight. When one does not see the wall, he bumps into it. In the same way, he cannot see from within, which is why anger occurs. When he cannot see what lies ahead of him, anger overcomes him.

When does anger take place? It is when one's vision (darshan) becomes obscured, and his knowledge (gnan) is obstructed, that his anger arises. The same happens when a person is overcome with pride.

Questioner: Please illustrate this point with an example.

Dadashri: Do people not ask you why you get angry? You would tell them that it was because you could not think clearly. Yes it is when people cannot think clearly that they get angry. Would they get angry if they were able to think? How are you rewarded when you get angry? First the sparks set you on fire and then you burn others.

greed - unsatisfaction or wasteful life

Greed has two teachers; one is a cheat [a crafty person] and the other one is financial loss. When one incurs loss; it will quickly destroy the tuber of greed.

What is greed?

Greed is to become perpetually engrossed in anything that becomes dear to you. Greed is the reason why you find no satisfaction even after you acquire it. A greedy person is preoccupied with his greed from the moment he wakes up until he goes to bed at night. That is called greed. From the moment he wakes up he is driven by his greed; he does not even stop to relax. He does not have the time to laugh. He is consumed with his greed the whole day long. The moment he enters the market, his greed is there. Greed, greed, greed and greed. He roams around in this way the whole day long, in vain. When he goes to the market, he knows exactly where the vegetables are expensive and where to find cheap ones. He then heads for the stall that sells cheaper vegetables every time.

A greedy person accumulates everything for the future. When he collects a lot, a couple of large rats will come in and clean up everything he has hoarded.

You are free to save and accumulate money, but without a desire to accumulate it. Do not obstruct money if it comes your way and do not go digging for it if it does not.

Money is destined to come to you. It will not stay just because you want it to stay. It will leave when it is time for it to leave. You cannot obstruct or accumulate it. If you save up enough today in the hope that it will be used for your daughter's marriage twenty-five years later, you are mistaken. If people believe in this, they are wrong. Whatever comes your way at that time is the reality. Money must be fresh.

So use everything that comes your way, do not waste it.Do not throw it away. Use it for a good cause. Do not have a strong desire for accumulating it. There should be one principle about accumulating money and that is that there should be a limit to how much you accumulate. That is called the necessary capital. Retain the capital and spend the rest in the right places. You cannot waste money.

Contentment is the opposite of greed. This contentment comes from an inner understanding carried over from the past life. This understanding is different from Gnan, which is Self knowledge. This understanding which is the knowledge of the relative world, results in his being content and not running after money. Without this understanding greed remains.

One has enjoyed all this in many previous lives, and therefore there is contentment that he does not want anything. The one who has not enjoyed these things in his past life is discontent. There remains within him a constant need and greed to enjoy this, enjoy that etc. Then greed of many variety sets in.

Questioner: A greedy person is also miserly is he not?

Dadashri: No, misers are different. Misers do not have money and that is why they are misers. A greedy person may have twenty five thousand rupees at home, and yet he is constantly looking for cheap bargains. His chit is always in greed. Even when he goes to the vegetable market, he is looking for the cheaper pile!

The greedy person has awareness about everything in the worldly matters.

Questioner: What is the difference between a greedy person and a miser?

Dadashri: A miser is only concerned with money whereas a greedy person has greed about everything. He has greed for money and greed for pride. Greedy people have greed spread out in every direction and will take away everything for themselves.

Questioner: Which is better, to be greedy or thrifty?

Dadashri: Greed is a crime. Thrift is not.

What does it mean to practice economy? When times are tight, be tight and when times are relaxed, you should relax also. Never get into a debt over anything. You can create a debt in your business, but not for your enjoyment or any luxuries.

When is it acceptable for you to get into a debt for food?
Only when you are dying, and not otherwise it is unacceptable. You cannot get into a debt to enjoy fancy and gourmet foods.

Glossary:
Gnan - Dadashri uses the word gnan for three types of knowledge: Gnan with capitalized 'G' is the knowledge of the Self (spiritual knowledge). The second gnan is the knowledge of cause and effects, life after life, and the third gnan is the worldly knowledge of human beings; The knowledge of the Self and of the doer through Gnan Vidhi in Akram Vignan

makar sankranti - power of words

January 14, is Makar Sankranti also known as the Kite Flying Festival. And just as kites soar in the air, so do words. If we speak positive words, positive vibrations reach the opposite person; and if we speak negative words, negative vibrations reach the opposite person. Dadashri says, The “One who speaks ‘completely’ negative creates karmic obstructions (antray) and ‘positive’ does not create any obstruction (antray).”  So the decision is ours.

Spiritual Science of Speec
Spiritual Science of Speech : True Nature of Speech

Have you ever thought how this speech is spoken? When you pluck a string on a sitar, how many different sounds does it produce? Many. In the same way, as soon as you have the desire to utter just one word, other words will formulate and be spoken automatically. What made you say something although it was not your wish?

Dadashri has exposed the true nature of speech. Speech is inanimate; it is a record. When you play a tape, does the tape not have to be recorded first? In the same way, the tape of your entire life speech has already been recorded in the past life and in this life it is playing. Just as a record starts playing when the needle is placed on the record, so will the record of your speech commence as soon as the appropriate circumstances arise.

Dadashri has also revealed the hidden secrets of how to clear past life karma, relation between inner intent and speech. Also know the scientific approach to stop lying and how to attain the power of speech.

Read on to get tremendous insight into the fundamental and subtle principles that govern speech.

Spiritual Quotes on "Spiritual Science of Speech : True Nature of Speech"

When you tell someone he is wrong, it is the same as throwing dirt over your own soul.
Using disturbing language is the greatest transgression of all, but when a person dismisses such words, he is truly considered a human being.
To protect what you say is the greatest violence (himsa). To insist that what you say is absolutely true is himsa.
The highest truth is one where no living being is hurt through the medium of the mind, the speech or the actions.
The one who wants liberation, should not insist, 'This is what needs to be done, and this is how it has to be done.'
To give advice that is not requested, God calls egoism.
An obstruction to Self-Realization is to see fault in others.
The only language worth recording in the mind-body complex is the language of love.
Parmaarth(Ulimate Goal) means anything that is done for the Soul.
The person whose mind, speech and conduct do not harm or hurt anyone in the slightest is considered sheelvan (highest of morals; purity) and one cannot have speech that is effective and efficacious and speech that liberates, without becoming a sheelvan.

Science behind "Spiritual Science of Speech : True Nature of Speech"

There are so many recording devices and transmitters today that people are beginning to fear them. They are afraid of being secretly taped. Now these devices just record the spoken words. The human mind-body complex on the other hand is capable of recording the account of new karma, effective in the next life. People are not even afraid of this! Even if you call a person worthless while he is sleeping, your remark will be recorded within that person and you will have to face the consequences. So you must not utter a word about anyone while he is sleeping, because everything will be recorded; such is this machinery. If you want to say something, make sure it is positive. Your good intentions (bhaavs) will result in happiness for you. But never say anything negative about anyone, even when alone, because the consequences will be very bitter. Everything gets recorded, so make sure you only record the good things.
The whole world is flawless. I see its flawlessness, and that is why I tell you about it. Why is the world flawless? Is the Pure Soul not flawless? So who appears to be at fault? It is the body complex (pudgal) that appears to be at fault. But this body complex, throughout its existence, is an effect of past karma. What can you do when it is the unfolding the effects of past karma that dictate the kind of speech that comes out?
The laws of karma are such that if you scold your servant, your child or your wife for an hour, in your next life they will return as your husband or your mother-in-law and do the same to you. Surely we need justice? You will have to suffer the same thing. If you hurt anyone, you will have suffering throughout your life. Even if you hurt someone for just an hour, you will have to experience a lifetime worth of suffering. You will then complain about your wife ill-treating you. Even your wife will ask herself why she mistreats you. She too suffers, but what can anyone do?
The power of speech arises when one does not use a single word to make fun of others, does not use it for his own selfish gain, does not misuse his speech, and does not use it to increase his prestige.

Try It Yourself

If you want to improve your speech you must stop using hurtful speech towards others. You can also improve your speech if you do not see faults in others and if you avoid conflicts.
"Dada, please reside in all your glory on my vocal cords!" Ask Dada for this and your speech will improve. Even doing Dada's niddidhyasan (visual contemplation) on your vocal cords, will improve your speech.
As soon as you realize that you have lied, you must immediately ask for forgiveness from 'Dada' by saying, "Dada I do not want to tell a lie and yet I did. Please forgive me. I will not lie again." If it happens again, do not worry, just continue to ask for forgiveness. If you do this your mistakes will not be 'recorded'. They will not go on record if you ask for forgiveness.

Dada's Life Example

If one says, 'I want to work,' then all the lethargy will disappear. I am relating to you what I was like when I was about twenty-five years old. This was before my Self-Realizationi. Whenever someone asked me how I was, if I happened to be feeling under the weather, I would still say, 'I am very well. My health is very good.' Although people may in general be in good health, they will still tell you that, 'It is fair'. What foolishness! When they say that, they do not get very far.
That is why I have eliminated the words 'fair' and 'okay' altogether because such words are damaging. The moment you say, 'It's great' the Soul within you becomes great also.

does god allow suffering ?

Why does God allow suffering?

Dadashri: Everything in this world runs exactly and precisely; this is no lie. The world is kept in regulation, by natural laws.

While approaching a bus stop, the bus driver loses control of the bus and runs over a lady who is waiting for the bus. The lady is killed instantly. A crowd gathers and people start shouting and blaming the bus driver. They say the woman died through no fault of her own. Some angry people say the driver should be locked up for his reckless driving. They do not realize that the woman died because the fault was her own from her previous life, which today has caught up with her and that is why she has been punished. The driver will be punished when his fault catches up with him. For him there will be a court hearing in which he may or may not be proven guilty. No one can hurt anyone without a past account. The lady has settled her past account. You should understand that the lady suffered and so the fault was hers. When the driver is caught, it will be his fault. Today the one who is caught is at fault.

Some people start to believe there is no God when they witness such incidents, while others lose their faith in God. They question why God allows such things to happen. These people have no understanding of reality and that these are all accounts that are being settled. These accounts are not just of this life alone. The laws of nature are just. Even the lady being crushed to death is justice. This world is exactly just.

If it were indeed the fault of the driver from the perspective of nature's justice, the driver would have been shot or arrested immediately. Really he is not at fault, but he has created a new fault. This will result in him suffering when the consequences of his karma comes into effect. He has liberated the lady from her fault and in the process has bound himself.

Related Spiritual Quotes by Param Pujya Dadashri : 1) There are worldly judges everywhere in this world, but there is only one judge of karma (deeds), the 'fault is of the sufferer'! This is the only justice, on which the whole world is running, and the worldly life continues to stand on the illusory justice.
2) Whereever we get punishment, know that it is our own fault only. How would we be punished otherwise?

God is neither just nor unjust. ‘No one be hurt in the slightest’; that is God’s language. Justice and injustice is people’s language.

What is just and unjust?

'The fault is of the sufferer,' is a hidden truth. Here if you use your intellect, it will not work. To understand this hidden truth, you have to go to a Gnani Purush. This hidden truth must be understood at the subtlest level. When human beings dispense justice, then there is a possibility of injustice. Nature, however is always just.

If you want to understand it in the worldly terms, it is like a computer. The manmade computer is not perfect. If you feed in wrong data, it will make mistakes. But nature's computer is flawless. The entity dispensing justice in this world is completely free from any attachment and bias.

If you understand and grasp just one word of the Gnani Purush, you will attain liberation. You will never need to take anyone's advice regarding who is at fault. The fault is of the sufferer.

This is a complete science. It is flawless. This is the Absolute Science. It is for the whole world, not just for Indians.

When I am showing you this perfect and clear justice, where is the need for any discussion of what is just and what is unjust? This is a very profound and subtle truth. I am giving you the essence of all the scriptures and telling you exactly how nature's justice works : 'The fault is of the sufferer.' This sentence is very exact. Whoever uses it and applies it in his life, will achieve liberation.

Related Spiritual Quotes by Param Pujya Dadashri : 1) As long as you see faults of the world, you will have to wander around, and when you see the world as flawless, you will have liberation. 2) There are worldly judges everywhere in this world, but there is only one judge of karma (deeds), the 'fault is of the sufferer'! This is the only justice, on which the whole world is running, and the worldly life continues to stand on the illusory justice.

Scientific Process of Self Realization
