true suffering

What is true suffering?

Questioner: Definition of Suffering

Dadashri: True unhappiness is when you are hungry and you do not get any food to eat for hours on end; it is when you do not get any water to drink when you are thirsty. Would you also not be miserable if you were desperate and were not allowed to go to the toilet? Such miseries can be considered true suffering.

Questioner: That is all fine, but if you look at the world, nine out of ten people are suffering.

Dadashri: Not nine out of ten, but possibly only two out of every thousand are somewhat happy. The rest all continue to suffer from inner turmoil day and night. If you roast sweet potatoes, how many sides will they roast from?

Questioner: How can one take advantage of this constant suffering?

Dadashri: If you analyze the nature of suffering, then it will not feel like suffering. If you do precise and exact pratikraman (the process of recalling mistakes, asking for apology and resolving never to repeat it) for your suffering, it will not feel like suffering anymore. People have haphazardly labeled everything as suffering without thinking or analyzing it. For example, you have a set of old sofas and your friend who never had any just bought a new set. When your wife sees them, she comes home and tells you how nice your friend's sofas look and complains that the ones you have at home have become old. Now the suffering has arrived in the home. There was no problem until she saw your friend's sofa, but the moment she set eyes on them, she brought the suffering with her.

If your friend builds a bungalow and you do not have a Bungalow, and your wife sees it, she will come home telling you how beautiful your friend's new bungalow is and that you never build anything. That is suffering. These are all self-created sufferings.

If I were a judge, I would first make everyone happy before I sentenced the prisoner. If I had to sentence someone for his crime, I would tell him that it would not be possible for me to sentence him for less than five years. Then if his attorney pleaded for a lesser sentence, I would gradually negotiate the sentence down from four years to three years to two years and finally down to only six months. This way he would go to prison feeling happy that he got away with having to serve only six months. Therefore, suffering is a matter of beliefs. If I were to say six months from the start, he would find it too long.

Related Spiritual Quotes by Param Pujya Dadashri : 1) There are worldly judges everywhere in this world, but there is only one judge of karma (deeds), the "fault is of the sufferer"! This is the only justice, on which the whole world is running, and the worldly life continues to stand on the illusory justice.
2) Whose fault is it? The one who is suffering. Which fault? The belief that "I am Chandulal", verily is your mistake. It is the belief that causes all the suffering. When this belief goes away, then no one is guilty in this world.
3) If you have a flawless vision, then see through that vision. Otherwise, do not see anything else at all. If you see anything else, you will suffer tremendously. You will become what you see.

nature's justice

What is the nature of nature's justice?

Nature is always just. Not even for a fraction of a moment has it been unjust. Justice that prevails in law courts may be unjust at times, but nature's justice is always exact. What is the nature of nature's justice? In nature's justice, if an honest person, who has never before committed a crime, were to steal today, he would be caught immediately. If a corrupt person commits a crime, nature would spare him and he would go free.

Nature wants to protect the purity of a good person and therefore it will never support him in any of his wrong doings. Nature will however, continue to aid and abet the wrong doer and ultimately crush him to such a point that he will never rise up again. Nature has always carried out justice. It has never, even for an instant, been unjust.

If you accept nature's justice and understand that,'Whatever has happened is justice'; you will attain liberation. If you question nature's justice, you will invite puzzles and suffering. To believe that nature is always just is called Gnan(true Knowledge). To understand things 'as they are', is Gnan itself and not to understand things 'as they are' is ignorance.

When one man sets another man's house on fire, people will regard it as injustice, but in reality it is justice. If the victim accuses and condemns the person responsible for the crime, it will be the victim who will suffer the consequences of injustice because he is accusing justice of being unjust.

One man burns the home of another person. At this time someone asks God, 'This man has just burnt this home. Is this justice or injustice?' The Lord's answer is, 'It is justice. The burning of the home is the justice.' Now the victim reacts with violence. This injustice on his part invites further justice from nature, because he calls justice as injustice.Whatever has happened is justice.

Do not look for justice in this world. Wars, conflicts and dissension in the world are a result of people's pursuit of justice. The world is entirely in the form of justice. It is futile to look for your own justice in it. Everything that has happened and everything that is happening is justice itself. People in their search for justice have established laws and courts, but they are foolish to assume that justice is found in them. One should simply observe what happens. That is justice.

Justice of the world and justice of nature are different.Justice and injustice are the effects of the accounts from our previous life, but people attempt to link their idea of justice with the account and in so doing, they end up in the courts and exhaust themselves. If you insult someone and they in anger insult you back several times, you may consider it unjust, but you should regard it as a settlement of your past account.

If you had lent money to a friend's father, would you not try to recover it from your friend when the opportunity arises? Your friend might think it unfair, but this is how nature's justice operates. Nature brings all the evidences together in order to settle a past account.

If a woman keeps antagonizing her husband, even then it is nature's justice. The woman herself is bad, but she thinks that it is her husband who is bad. Nevertheless, the entire situation is nature's justice.

Related Spiritual Quotes by Param Pujya Dadashri:
1) Not for even a moment does nature prevail outside of justice. If it were to ever prevail outside of justice, then nature cannot be called as nature.
2) What does nature say? Any injustice towards you is justice, and justice towards you is also justice. Hence do not do any sankalp (my-ness) and vikalp (I-ness), otherwise you will have to accept justice through crying. Instead, say it is vyavasthit (scientific circumstantial evidences).

karmic science

We are our own Karmic projection:

Everything that one encounters is one’s own design; nobody else is responsible for it. For endless lives, one has been responsible, wholly and solely.

A lot of people recognize that whatever they experience is their own projection. As a result, they try to change that projection, but are unsuccessful. This is because the projection is not solely in their hands. Talks about changing the projection are correct, but does one have the independent ability to do so?

Yes, one does, however, only to a limited extent. The major portion of this control is not in your hands. Only after attaining the true knowledge of the Self, does one become independent; but until then, it is not quite so.

If this is the case, then…
How do I use this knowledge to achieve my goals?
Can I purify or unwind negative imprints of Karma before they come into fruition?
Can I continue doing my normal activities, not bind new Karmas, and yet be able to experience the blissful state of the Self?
Is there an easy and practical way to liberate myself from karmic bondages from endless past lives?

Get started on this spiritual journey to eternal bliss

Understanding the theory of Karma will help to understand its science and mechanism. But the Question would remain:

How to get started on this journey towards liberation?

The essential step to get started on this spiritual journey to eternal bliss is to discover your True Selfby attending the Gnan Vidhi, a 2-hour scientific process of Self-Realization.

In Dadashri’s words:

“Once you come into the nature of the Self, no new karma will bind. This happens when the Gnani Purush makes you aware of your own True Self. After that, new karmas do not bind and old karmas continue to discharge. When all the karmas have discharged, you will attain final liberation.”

People from different walks of life, whether searching for solutions to day-to-day problems or permanent bliss, have gained contentment in their quest of life after having been through the scientific process of Self-Realization called Gnan Vidhi.

It has to be experienced to be believed!

karmic knowledge

Would you be surprised if you learned that…?

The reason for continuing in the cycle of births is Karma.

The experiences of pain and pleasure are the results of Karma that has been charged or collected in previous lives.
One negative deed does NOT get offset by another positive deed; both will deliver their results individually.

After attaining SELF-REALIZATION, you can be engaged in normal activities, stay in a blissful state, not bind any Karma and attain full enlightenment thereafter.
One attains final liberation (moksha) only when all Karmas are destroyed.

Revered Dadashri, through very simple language, gives us the following key understandings on Karma:
...
Fruits of Karma are not punishment or retribution, but simply, consequences of our inner intents.
...
The seeds of Karmas are sown in the past life and give their fruits in this life. Who gives the fruits of these Karmas? God? No. It ripens into our experiences when the appropriate conditions come together. It is given by nature, which Dadashri refers to as ‘Scientific Circumstantial Evidences’ (Vyavasthit Shakti).
...
The key reasons for charging of Karma are the inner intent behind the action and ignorance of the Self.

defination of karma

Karma, as a word, has been used very loosely. If you are reading this page, it’s likely that you are one amongst thousands who is truly seeking the right understanding of this misunderstood word – "Karma".

You are possibly here to understand how our intentions, motives, desires and the emotional drive with which we conduct our actions have an effect on our lives and how they are related to the term “Karma”.

Karma in Sanskrit means deed or action. It includes actions that we do, not only through our body, but also through speech and mind.
Karma is also referred to an echo of the past and is also said to create the future.
Common acts like going to work, good deeds, charity, etc. are also referred to as Karma in general.
However, Revered Dadashri, who has attained Realization of the Self, gives a deeper understanding and explains that those acts are actually fruits of Karma bound in one’s previous life. Thus, whatever you see externally in the current life are all the fruits of one’s inner intents of one’s past life.

puzzling world

The world is the puzzle itself. It has puzzled itself. God has not created this puzzle. There are two viewpoints to solve this puzzle, one relative viewpoint and one real viewpoint. Real is permanent, relative is temporary. All these relatives are temporary adjustments and You are permanent."

Just like how a goldsmith is required to separate gold from other elements, an Enlightened person is needed to bring an individual to the purest form. A true spirituality is not a religion; it is a science. One only needs a “scientist” who can separate the two eternal elements, the Self (“I”) and non-Self (“My”). Therefore, to realize the true Self, an individual would need to go to this scientist or an Enlightened being (a Gnani Purush). Param Pujya Dadahsri had gifted tens-of-thousands of individuals with this science of separation (Gnan Vidhi) and the grace of enlightenment. Even today, people are able to attain Self realization in the presence of Pujya Deepakbhai. Millions of people have realized their true Self and awakened their Soul. The result of this process is continuous awareness of the true-Self and a worry-free life in total bliss.

Experience yourself

Know Thyself and Experience it!

Do we really need to meditate, perform heavy penance, and renounce the world to realize who we truly are? Why shall we forsake everything we have to find out our true identity and that bliss which already resides within us? There have been millions of people who have renounced everything to discover that ultimate truth. But is that really required? The answer to that one question “Who am I?” has been given by Sages many times in history. However, that experience remains concealed in the hearts of these mystics. Nonetheless, there have been very few individuals who have passed down this experience to others. The process of Self realization is indeed very easy and nothing but the proper guidance is required.

To begin this quest for searching our true Self, let’s begin by looking at a conversation between an Enlightened person (Dadashri) and a seeker about what really belongs to us and what does not…

To understand who we are, let's begin by separating I and My

Dadashri: At the moment, do you identify with the ‘My’? Is the ‘I’ alone, or is it with ‘My’?

Questioner: ‘My’ is always there.

Dadashri: What are all the things that fall under ‘My’?

Questioner: My home and all the things inside my home.

Dadashri: Are all of those things yours? To whom does the wife belong?

Questioner: She is also mine.

Dadashri: And these children?

Questioner: They are also mine.

Dadashri: And this watch?

Questioner: That is also mine.

Dadashri: And these hands, whose hands are these?

Questioner: They are also mine.

Dadashri: Then you will say “My head, my body, my feet, my ears, my eyes.” All these parts of your body fall under ‘My'. But then who is the person that is saying this word “My?” Who is the one that says, “All these things are mine?” Have you ever thought about that? When you say “My name is David,” (replace your own name with David) and then you turn around and say, “I am David” do you not think there is a contradiction in this?

Questioner: Yes, I think so.

Dadashri: You are ‘David’ right now. In this ‘David’ there is both ‘I’ and ‘My’. They are like the two railway lines of ‘I’ and ‘My'; they always run together yet they are always separate. They are always parallel and never become one. Despite this you believe them to be one. This is due to the ignorance or unawareness of your true identity. Having understood this, separate the ‘My’. Keep all that comes under ‘My’ to one side. For example, “My heart,” keep your heart on one side. What other things do we need to separate from this body?

Questioner: The feet and all the sense organs.

Dadashri: Yes, the five gnanendriyas (organs of perception) and five karmendriyas (organs of action) and everything else. Furthermore, do you say, “My mind,” or “I am mind?”

Questioner: We say, “My mind.”

Dadashri: Do you also not say, “My intelligence?”

Questioner: Yes.

Dadashri: And “My chitt (the component of inner vision and previous knowledge in the mind)?”

Questioner: Yes.

Dadashri: Then do you say, “My egoism,” or do you say, “I am egoism?”

Questioner: My egoism.

Dadashri: So even egoism is not a part of you. By saying “My egoism,” you will be able to separate that too, but you are not aware of other components that fall under ‘my’ and that is why you are not able to make a complete separation. Your awareness has limitations. You are aware of only the sthool (gross) components, beyond which there are sookshma (subtle) components. The subtle components also need to be separated, after which there are two more levels of subtlety, sookshmatar (subtler) and sookshmatum (subtlest), which also need to be taken away. Only a Gnani Purush (Enlightened One) is able to achieve a separation at these intangible levels. Is it not possible to separate the two? If you keep on deducting ‘My’ from ‘I’, at every step and at every level, and put all the things that fall under ‘My’ on one side, then what will remain?

Questioner: The ‘I’.

Dadashri: That ‘I’, is precisely what you are. And that is the ‘I’ that you need to realize.

Questioner: After such a separation am I to understand that whatever is left over is who I really am? Is that the Real I?

Dadashri: Yes, whatever remains after the separation, is your Real Self. ‘I’ is the Real You. Should you not inquire about this? Is this method of separating the ‘I’ from ‘My,’ not simple?

Questioner: It appears to be simple, but how are we going to make the separation at the sookshmatar and sookshmatam levels? Without a Gnani, this is not possible, right?

Dadashri: Yes. That is what the Gnani Purush (Enlightened One) does for you. That is why I say separate ‘I’ and ‘My’ with the ‘Gnani’s separator.’ What do all the teachers of our scriptures call this separator?

They call it 'bhed Gnan.' It is the Science (knowledge) of separation. How are you going to take away the ‘My’ without this Science? You do not have the precise knowledge of what comes under ‘I’ and what comes under ‘My.’ Bhed Gnan means, “I am totally separate from everything that is mine.” It is only through meeting a Gnani Purush that one acquires this science of separation.

Is it not simple once this separation between the ‘I’ and the ‘My’ is made? Does the Science of Self-Realization not become simple this way? Otherwise, in this day and age, one can go on reading the scriptures to the point of exhaustion and still not attain Self-Realization.

what is worry ??

What is worry?

But what is a worry? When a thought goes beyond a certain level it is called a worry. Thinking has to be done up to a certain level and should not exceed its limits. What is normality in thinking? It is normal as long as it is does not distress you. Once it goes beyond that and puzzles you or troubles you, you should stop. After the limit is reached, it turns into worry. This is what I have discovered.

One does not have a right to worry. One has a right to think but when it results in worry, one should stop. An above normal thought, is called a worry. Even I do thinking, but once it gets above normal and begins to churn my stomach, I stop.

Questioner: Ordinarily if we keep a watch internally,it is a thought, but if it becomes a worry would it then be considered an entanglement?

Dadashri: When you worry, that is entanglement.Worries arise because one believes that,' I am doing all this.' That is what he believes. Worry means I am the doer of all this. This is a disease that plagues all human beings. It cannot be purged quickly. Once a habit becomes established it does not leave. It is simply not in your interest to worry. In reality things simply happen.

Questioner: It will go away once we come to you!

Dadashri: Yes, it will go away, but it will happen slowly. It does not happen instantly.

Related Spiritual Quotes by Param Pujya Dadashri : 1) Why do worries occur? One becomes involved (becomes one) with the thoughts that arise and that is why worries arise.
2) How many things do you need to acquire in this world? Things are endless. You will receive them as needed, so remain worry free.

truth - know it and believe it

What is Truth? What is the Highest Truth?

Questioner: Is flattery considered truth? Does flattery mean to endorse something unnecessarily?

Dadashri: That is not called truth. Nothing is worthy of flattery. Flattery is a tool a person uses to conceal his mistake.

Questioner: Is there an advantage to speaking pleasantly with people?

Dadashri: Yes, it makes them happy.

Questioner: But when people discover later on that they have been lied to, they feel hurt. Some people may talk sweetly while some although they may have harsh speech, are sincere and honest.

Dadashri: What is honest speech? Is it the naked truth? If a boy says to his mother, "Hey you, my father's wife!" Is he not stating the truth? Yet such a statement would offend her. It would hurt her very much. You would call this the naked truth.

What is considered truth? There are four components to truth. Truth should be: beneficial, brief, pleasant and true (heetmitta-priya-satya). Besides being true (satya), the truth should be pleasant to hear (priya), it should be beneficial (heetkari) and also brief (mitta). Not only should the truth be pleasant, but it must also benefit others and be brief too. I said something beneficial and pleasant to you but kept talking, you would say, 'Sir, please stop now and let me have lunch.' So it also needs to be brief. This is not a radio that can talk continuously. So all four components must be present for it to be the truth. To speak only the naked truth makes it not the truth.

What should a person's speech be like? It should include and combine all four of these components otherwise it becomes false. This principle applies to all speech used in our worldly interaction. Only the Gnani'sy speech encompasses all the four components. His speech is always for the benefit of others, never for his. The Gnani has absolutely no attachment for his relative self

The highest truth is one where no living being is hurt through the medium of the mind, the speech or the actions. This is the highest of all principles. This is not the real Truth (the Self), but it is the ultimate of all worldly truths.

Related Spiritual Quotes by Param Pujya Dadashri: 1) What is satya (truth)? When no living being is hurt through speech, is not hurt through conduct or one does not think any thing bad for the other person; it is the greatest truth. It is the greatest principle! It is not the 'real' truth. It is the ultimate 'worldly truth' (vyavahar satya).
2) Decide in your mind that you want to completely live by the absolute worldly truth (vyavahar satya). The one, who follows the worldly truth, can follow the real truth (nischaya satya).

How to practice honesty in business?

This is why I tell you what is for your absolute good. Do not resort to deceit. Deal honestly. Be honest with your customers and tell them that in your business, your profit margin is fifteen percent. They can buy from you if they want to. What has the Lord said? If you are destined to receive three hundred dollars, you will get that amount whether you steal, use deceit or deal honestly. You will not receive a penny more or less. So then why are you being foolish and taking on the liability of stealing and deceit? Try to do your business honestly and legally for a few days and see what happens. At first you will experience some difficulty for about six months to a year but it will then run very smoothly.Even your clients will realize that your business is honest and unadulterated. They will come to you without you having to advertise. The vyavasthit that brings customers to your shop isvyavasthit but the foolish ones sit in their shops worrying and waiting for the customers to show. They spoil their dhyan and enter into adverse meditation.

If you decide that you want to conduct an honest business, then it will happen for you. The Lord has said that there is grave liability in adulterating food and gold.

The times are such that you have to live amidst deceitful people. But still your intent and awareness should always be on how to escape from all deceit. With this intent, you will be able to escape from the greatest liability. If such intent exists then with repentance you will encounter circumstances where you will not have to be deceitful and your business will run well. On the contrary people will commend your business.

If you want to attain liberation you must follow the words of a Gnani and if you do not want liberation then follow the times but in your mind you must feel that you do not want a deceitful business. You will then find such a business. Your business practices should be such that even when a child comes to you, his parents will not have any fear of their child being cheated.

who is at fault ?

Who is at fault?

Dadashri: A mother-in-law is constantly harassing her daughter-in-law. The daughter-in-law is consumed with thoughts about the way she is being treated. Day and night, she is preoccupied with thoughts of this abuse. Would this not make her miserable?

Questioner: Yes.

Dadashri: Her misery will affect her physical health. The effect of this mistreatment will not allow her to have positive thoughts. How can she be helped? We should explain to her that it is because of the karmic account of her past life that she has to endure her present circumstances. She should settle that account. Then we should show her how to settle her accounts. Her mother-in-law is not at fault. The fault is of the sufferer. She will cease to blame her mother-in-law. Then she will be at peace.

No one is at fault. The fault is of the person who blames others. There is nobody at fault in this world. Everyone gets what he or she deserves according to his or her karma. They are not creating new faults today. Today's situation is the result of past karma. Today one may repent but since he has already made a contract in his previous life, he has no choice but to fulfill it.

If you want to know who is at fault in this world, find the one who suffers. He is at fault. Problems between a daughter-in-law and mother-in-law are escalated and exacerbated by each placing the blame on the other. Is the mother-in-law tormenting the daughter-in-law or is the daughter-in-law giving her mother-in-law a tough time? If the daughter-in-law is suffering, she should understand that it is her fault, and vice versa. If they continue to blame each other, they will create new accounts and they will have to suffer them all over again. Their accounts can only be settled through applied knowledge of the Gnani and that is : The fault is of the sufferer.

Therefore, if you want to be liberated from this world, you have to accept whatever comes your way, whether it is good or bad. This way, your accounts will be settled. Even an eye contact, cannot take place without past accounts, so how can these events take place without past accounts? Whatever you have given to others, you will receive in return. If you accept it gladly, you will be settling your account. If you do not accept it, you will have to suffer.

The fault is of the sufferer. People find this sentence very useful and are amazed at its discovery.

How can the thoughts be stopped? Tell the thoughts, ‘You take care of your own issues; I am not on your side.’ That way you will sit on God’s side.
To know about "How to stop negative thoughts?"

How to stop negative thoughts?

Questioner:Should we do pratikraman for the consequences of karma or for the subtle things?

Dadashri :For the subtle.

Questioner :Should it be for the thoughts or for the bhaav-deep inner intent?

Dadashri :For the bhaav. There is bhaav behind thoughts for sure. If you did atikraman aggression against anyone, you must do pratikraman for it. If you have negative thoughts, for example, if you get a negative thought about this lady, then you should turn it around by saying, "Thoughts must be good." If in your mind says, "This person is worthless," how dare it arise? We do not have the right to look at his worthiness or non-worthiness. And if you want to say anything in general, then say, "Everyone is good." When you say this, you will not be liable in binding karma. But if you call him worthless, then that is atikraman, which definitely demands a pratikraman.

Then, if you get the same thought again, it is inner karmic baggage. If it arises, it signifies the stock that is within. The stock that comes out will be exactly what is within. And if a person does not know anything but feels "I am very wise," that too is the inner karmic stock. That thought is not detrimental to anyone and so pratikraman is not needed.

Thoughts are bound to come but you must devalue them. You should do pratikraman. Thoughts are inanimate; they are lifeless.

How will it reach the pure Soul within the other person? By using the following method:

"Oh! pure Soul within Chandubhai who are separate from the mind, speech and body of Chandubhai, the illusion associated with the name of Chandubhai, Chandubhai's bhaav karma charging karma, dravya karma discharging karma, no karma non-charging karma; I had a bad thought about You and for that I ask for Your forgiveness. I will not repeat the mistake again."

A thought will not occur without an inner conflict that has been laid. The moment the thought arises, you should do pratikraman, without fail. So do collective pratikraman. I do pratikraman for whatever thoughts arose in the last ten minutes.

Glossary: bhaav - deep inner intent
chandubhai - Replace "chandubhai" with the name of person you hurt or had negative thoughts,
bhaav karma - Cause karma; Charge karma,
dravya karma - Subtle discharging karma; Effect of previously caused karma,
no karma - Neutral discharging karmas; Gross discharging karma,
alochana - Recall and confession of mistakes,
pratikraman - asking for forgiveness,
pratyakhyan - firm resolve and determination never to repeat the mistake and asking for the energy for the same.

impact of words in relationship

What is the impact of words in relationship?

Questioner: But many conflicts arise because of the words I use.

Dadashri: It is because of words that this world has come into existence. When words come to an end, so will the world.

Words have been the cause of all the wars in the world. Words must be sweet or else they should not be spoken. You can become one with someone again even after you have fought with that person, if you use sweet words to assuage him.

Some people tell their elders that they have no sense. How can one say such a thing? Who are they to assess commonsense in others? Such words will inevitably create conflicts. You should not say anything that would hurt others because you will be held liable for it. People who understand this will not take on such a liability; instead they will always say the right thing, whereas those who lack this understanding speak recklessly, taking on the liability. The responsibility is yours.

By telling a person, "You do not understand," you create the worst of the knowledge-deluding karmas (gnanavaran). You cannot make such a statement because it hurts the other person. Instead you can say, "I will help you understand."

If you are sitting peacefully and someone comes and says to you, "You have no sense," these words will shatter your peace of mind and you will feel hurt, but it is not as if he has thrown a rock at you!

Words have a tremendous impact in this world. The scars they leave behind cannot be erased for hundreds of lifetimes. People say their hearts have been wounded by words. This is nothing but the effect of words and this world perpetuates because of these effects.

Some women tell me they still bear scars on their heart from what their husbands said to them twenty or thirty years ago. What kind of a 'rock' did these men throw with their speech that the wound has not healed even now? Such wounds should not be inflicted.

In our culture, people of lower caste use physical violence to hurt one another, while those of higher castes use words to hurt one another.

Words, which hurt others, are called inappropriate words. People take on a grave liability when they use such words, even casually. On the other hand when they employ pleasant words casually they are beneficial. People are not brave enough to use inappropriate language with a policeman or someone with authority for fear of being reprimanded, but they use it freely at home, because they are not afraid of the consequences. The policeman would indeed teach you a lesson, but who would teach you a lesson at home? Should we not learn a new lesson?

One thing that is certain in life is change. Surprisingly, it's also something that people resist the most. This is the main reason why most of us are not living a happy life today. If change is permanent, then shouldn't we know how to accept or get adjusted to change? Well, the easiest way of doing so is to know how to adjust! Right from birth until death, one is subject to several adjustments. In fact, we all have experienced adjusting to disagreeable circumstances many times. For instance, you must have used an umbrella when it suddenly had started raining. In such a situation, the one who is making adjustments never questions, argues, or resist; right? Do you know why? This is because she or he knows that there is no point in doing so, as suffering will ultimately come to her or him at the end in case of objection.

However, this adjustment is not taken when it comes to dealing with disagreeable people. For example, you might start a fight when a front person refuses to do something that you desire. Similarly, you will openly oppose and abuse somebody if she or he speaks something that is wrong from your viewpoint. Well, these are some situations where we forget how to adjust, enter into conflict, and lose our inner peace, irrespective of whether we are right or wrong. So, what can be done? Should you accept all wrong things or tolerate? Should you keep quite when something does not happen as per your wish? Irrespective of what can be done, the desired focus is always on how to adjust or how to retain inner peace in these situations.

This is exactly where Param Pujya Dadashri reveals the master key of 'ADJUST EVERYWHERE' as the ultimate solution to cope up with constantly changing circumstances as well as people. This is certainly an everywhere applicable way to remain happy forever. This simple but very profoundly effective phrase has the power to change your life permanently! Read on to learn how!

Science behind "Adjust Everywhere : The Master Key to be Happy"

Our religion declares that you must see convenience in inconvenience. For example, one night I realized that the bed sheets were dirty. I then made an adjustment in my mind that they were very soft, and as a result, they began to feel very comfortable to me. It is the knowledge that we acquire through the fives senses that makes us perceive inconvenience.
"Your energies (to adjust) have to be cultivated especially with those you do not get along with. These energies are already present with people you get along with. Inability to adjust is a weakness. Why is it possible for me to get along with everyone? The more you adjust, the more your energies will increase and your weaknesses will diminish. Right understanding will prevail only when all the wrong understandings are destroyed. Everyone gets along with easy-going and good-natured people, but when you learn to get along with difficult, stubborn, and harsh personalities, you have truly accomplished something.
No matter how brazen and shameful a person is, if you know how to adjust without losing your mind, it is well worth it. Losing your temper is futile. Nothing in this world will 'fit' you (nothing will adapt to you), but if you 'fit' with every situation or people, then this world will be good. If you attempt to make others 'fit' with you, this world will become awkward. Adjust everywhere. As long as you 'fit' into everything, there will be no problems."
Each living being is independent and is looking for happiness. He is not here to give happiness to others. If a person encounters sorrow when he is looking for happiness, he will create enmity; regardless of who gets in his way, be it his wife, his children or his family.

defination of pure love

What is the definition of real love?

Dadashri: What is the definition of love?

Questioner: I do not know, Dada. Please explain it to me.

Dadashri: I too was looking for the definition of love when I was young! I wondered about the nature of love. People keep talking about love all the time. What could it be? So then I read all kinds of books and scriptures but did not find the definition of love anywhere. I was astonished that no scripture has defined love. It wasn't until I read a book of Kabir that I was satisfied. He is the one who defined love. His definition helped me. It says:

'That which increases one moment and decreases the next, is not love: That which resides in the heart and remains the same, is real love.'

I found this to be a beautiful definition. 'Bravo! Kabir Sahib, I must say!' This is the truest love of all. That, which never increases or decreases, is love.

Questioner: So what is called real love?

Dadashri: Real love never increases or decreases. The Gnani's love is such a love; it does not increase or decrease. I have that kind of love for the whole world. That love is the Absolute Self.

Questioner: Still there must be love somewhere in this world?

Dadashri: There is no love anywhere. There is no such thing as love in this world. It is all infatuations and attractions. You will realize this right away when someone you love says something negative about you.

If your brother returns home today after being away for a long time, you love to be around him all the time. You will eat together and go out with him. But if the next day he tells you that you are behaving like a person without any sense, this would be the end of your love. If you were to say the same thing to a Gnani Purushf several times over, he would not be affected. His love for you would remain the same.

Real love is that which does not have any abhorrence behind it. How can it be called love when there is abhorrence associated with it? Love should be unwavering, unchanging.

realise yourself - who are you ?

There is more to life than just living. There has got to be more to life than to just live. There should be a higher purpose in life. The purpose of life is to come to the real answer of 'Who am I?' Is God the 'doer' or not? What is the real nature of God? What is the nature of the real 'doer' in this world? Who runs the world? How does it function? What is the real nature of illusion? Whatever one knows, is it real or is it an illusion? Will one become free or remain bound with the knowledge one has?

Spiritual Quotes on "Who am I? : Realize your true self!"

The Gnan Vidhi is the process that separates the Soul (Self) from the body (non-self). It is the separation of the animate from the inanimate.
A Gnani Purush knows the qualities of the Self and the non-Self and therefore, can separate the two.
There is no other method to acquire the experience of the Pure Soul other than through the Gnan and the Gnani's grace. The acquisition of Gnan, leads to pratiti (conviction), laksh (awareness), and anubhuv (experience). Furthermore, the conviction (pratiti) never leaves.
The world is the puzzle itself. It has puzzled itself. God has not created this puzzle. There are two viewpoints to solve this puzzle, one relative viewpoint and one real viewpoint. Real is permanent, relative is temporary. All these relatives are temporary adjustments and You are permanent.
Moksha means to come to your Real nature. The worldly life means to go away from your Real nature. Which one is the easier of the two? To come to your Real Self is not difficult, but to live the worldly life as a relative self, (i.e., to go away from your Real Self), is always difficult.
Everything associated with 'My' are obstacles on the path of liberation. Once 'My' becomes detached from the 'I', everything becomes clear. The realization of, "Who Am I?" is spontaneously associated with the loss or detachment of 'My'.
Is there a God? Yes indeed there is God, and moreover, that God is with you. Why are you searching for him on the outside? When someone opens the door for you, you can receive His darshan (see him). However, the door has been shut so tightly, that it is impossible to open it on your own. Only a person who is Self-Realized (a Gnani Purush) can show you the path and open this door for you.
You do not have any boss in this world. Your bosses are your blunders and your mistakes. In the absence of these two, you are the Supreme Lord.
After entering this elevator, how does one know that he is going towards moksha? Your assurance is that your anger, lust, greed, and pride (krodh-maan-maaya-lobh) will go away. The internal suffering will go away. There will not be anymore artadhyan (adverse meditation that affects the relative self) or raudradhyan (adverse meditation causing harm to others). This will be your confirmation.
The first stage of moksha is where you experience a sense of neutrality towards problems and miseries. In the first stage of moksha, one experiences indifference towards any worldly unhappiness. Even in worldly unhappiness, one remains unaffected. In the midst of oopadhi (suffering imposed upon you by others or external factors) you experience samadhi (to be free from suffering and to experience the state of one's own bliss). That is the first stage of moksha. The second stage of moksha, permanent moksha, is attained after death. The first stage of moksha should be attained here and now.

Science behind "Who am I? : Realize your true self!"

The Self and the non-Self are in a mixture form and not in a compound form, which is why it is possible to extract one from the other. If they were in a compound form, it would not be possible to separate the two. That is why the Gnani Purush is able to separate the two, and one is able to understand the Self.
The Absolute 'I' within you is God. Beyond this there is no other God or superior above you. There is no almighty power to rule over you. You are completely independent. There is no one that can hurt you or hinder you. The only thing that can hurt or hinder you, are your own mistakes.
"No one can ever interfere with you. This world is such that no living being is in a position where it can ever interfere
with another."
Karma can only be created if there is 'doership.' As 'Chandulal', when you say and believe, "I did this," or "I did that…" you become the 'doer.' This belief then becomes a support for karma. When one stops being the 'doer,' the karma has no basis or support, so it falls away.

Gnan Vidhi : Scientific Process for the awareness of "Who am I?"

What is Gnan Vidhi? I heard that one can attain Self-Realisation in two hours? Is that true?

The Gnan Vidhi is the process that separates the Soul (Self) from the body (non-self). It is the separation of the animate from the inanimate. There is nothing here to be given. One simply has to sit and repeat what I say, exactly as it is being spoken. [The awareness of "Who am I?" is attained after a two-hour process, of which, the first 48 minutes consists of repeating sentences of bhed vignan (Science of separation), which separate the Self and the non-self. After that, there is a period of an hour during which you will be explained the five aagnas (cardinal principles) with examples to illustrate and clarify. You will be shown how to conduct your life so that you do not charge new karma. And you will then know how to dissipate your past karma smoothly. The awareness that you are pure soul will remain constantly.

After Gnan Vidhi ceremony your soul will be awakened. You will experience a sense of neutrality towards problems and miseries. One experiences indifference towards any worldly unhappiness. Even in worldly unhappiness, one remains unaffected. In the midst of oopadhi (suffering imposed upon you by others or external factors) you experience samadhi (to be free from suffering and to experience the state of one's own bliss). Read experience / watch experience of many people who have attained Self Realizaiton through Gnan Vidhi.

Principle from Dadashri's life

"On a June evening in 1958 at around six o'clock, Ambalal Muljibhai Patel, a family man, a contractor by profession, was sitting on a bench on the busy platform number 3 of Surat's train station. Surat is a city in south Gujarat, a western state in India. What happened within the next forty-eight minutes was phenomenal. Spontaneous Self-realization occurred within Ambalal M. Patel. During this event his ego completely melted and from that moment onwards he became completely detached from all Ambalal's thoughts, speech and acts. He became the Lord's living instrument for the salvation of mankind, through the path of knowledge. He called this Lord, Dada Bhagwan. To everyone he met, he would say, "This Lord, Dada Bhagwan is fully manifest within me. He also resides within all living beings. The difference is that within me He is completely expressed and in you, he is yet to manifest.""

His words became the foundation for the new, direct and step-less path to Self-realization called Akram Vignan. Through his divine original scientific experiment (The Gnan Vidhi), he imparted this knowledge to others within two hours. Thousands have received his grace through this process and thousands continue to do so even now. 'Akram' means without steps; an elevator path or a short cut, whereas 'Kram' means an orderly step-by-step spiritual path. Akram is now recognized as a direct shortcut to the bliss of the Self.Through the scientific approach of the Akram Vignan, even today one can attain Atmagnan(Self-Realisation), by meeting a living Atmagnani(The one who has acquired the Self). Only a lit candle can light another candle.

Powerful words in scriptures help the seeker in increasing their desire for liberation and thus they represent the path. The knowledge of the Self is the final goal of all seekers. Without the knowledge of the Self there is no liberation. This knowledge does not exist in books. It exists in the heart of a Gnani. Hence, the knowledge of the Self can only be acquired by meeting a Gnani. Through the scientific approach of the Akram Vignan, even today one can attain Atmagnan, by meeting a living Atmagnani. Only a lit candle can light another candle.

why do I suffer ?

Why do I suffer?

Dadashri: Everyday you read about theft and various other crimes in the newspapers, but you should not become alarmed or anxious. Thoughts and worries about whether or not the same will happen to you are negative and these are the mistakes that bind you. Instead, why not just live positively and naturally? You will only be robbed if it is in your karmic account. If it is not in your karma, then no one in this world can touch you, so be fearless. The newspapers will print anything but you should not be afraid of the news. It should not worry you even if thousands of people were being robbed.

No one has any control over you. If you happen to get robbed, all you need to do is ask yourself who is really suffering and then move on.

The world is not meant for suffering, it is meant for enjoying. People receive that which is due to them according to their karmic account. Why are some people happy while others are suffering? It is because they have brought such accounts with them.

Many people have written the statement : 'The Fault is of the Sufferer' in large print, on their walls at home, so that they are reminded of who is at fault whenever they experience any suffering.

If a man remembers this sentence throughout his life and applies it to his life's circumstances with the correct understanding, he would not need a guru. These words alone will take him to moksha (final Liberation).

Related Spiritual Quotes by Param Pujya Dadashri : 1) There are worldly judges everywhere in this world, but there is only one judge of karma (deeds), the 'fault is of the sufferer'! This is the only justice, on which the whole world is running, and the worldly life continues to stand on the illusory justice.
2) The Secret Knowledge (absolute knowledge) is not in the attention of this world. But everyone is aware of the knowledge of ignorance which causes them to wander life after life. Your pocket got picked then who's fault it is? His pocket did not get picked up & why only your pocket got picked? Which of the two (You or the Pick Pocketer) is suffering now? 'The Fault is of the Sufferer'.
